Top Places to Camp in the Fall Season with a Family

Mrs. Renee
Not everyone likes to go camping during the hot months of summer. There are many who prefer to wait until the weather is a bit cooler. The Fall season offers plenty of beautiful scenery along with cooler days, and cold nights. There are some places that are much better than others during the Fall season. Of course not all campgrounds are the same, so you will really need to check which fits your family's particular needs. Below are the top places you may want to consider camping at during the Fall season. Keep in mind that the weather can affect whether or not the campground stays open, or closes up early for the season.

Blackwoods Campground

The Blackwoods campground is open up until October 31st. So you will have at least a month out of the Fall season to enjoy the campground. The Blackwoods campground is located in Maine, inside of the Acadia National Park. For more information on the campground you can click here. The Fall foliage is really great at this particular spot during the Fall season. You will find that the temperature in Maine is a lot cooler than other places during the Fall season, so make sure you prepare for cool nights. The fees for this campground are twenty dollars per night, which is the typical price for most campgrounds.

Loft Mountain Campground

The Loft Mountain Campground is located in the Shenandoah National Park, in Virginia. During the Fall season you are sure to see some truly amazing views. You can also choose to get a nice wooded campsite if you want to really feel like you are roughing it. One thing to consider before your trip is that they do have paid showers, so be sure to take this into consideration before your next camping trip. They are open through October, but be sure to check the website to find out any road closure information, and to make your reservations online.

Yellowstone National Park

If you have an RV, than Yellowstone may be the place that you want to visit. Watching the amazing scenery change from summer to Fall is really worth the trip. Since camping in Yellowstone Park is a lot more primitive, it only makes sense to camp in a recreational vehicle if you have a family. Also the temperatures will be a lot cooler, so tent camping with a family at this location may not be a good idea, but RV camping certainly is. The Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yes, it is a really big park, and is a beautiful drive to get to. Be sure to click on the link above to find out information on where you are allowed to visit, and safe areas of the park. It is very important to follow the parks rules so that you can stay safe.
