This was by far the best and truest Lily of the Valley scent I had ever found. So light, yet pungent in all the right ways, and pure. The goodness did not stop there either. As I opened each little vial in turn, it was as if a sensory-lotus-poem-thing was unfolding, a small, fragrant epiphany, right there under the fluorescent lighting and among bottles of Ginko Biloba caplets and sage wands.
Persian Garden, Forest Rain, Honeysuckle Rose, Tunisian Myrrh, Zen Rain, Water Goddess-like their names, the actual scents are exotic, yet to the point. Tunisian Myrrh obviously has the exotic thing down, and it isn't anything but Tunisian Myrrh. There is no pretentiousness whatsoever; even though some of the names are more abstract, such as Forest Rain, one whiff and you will think "of course-Forest Rain."
As for quality, they cannot be beat. The oils are rich and thick, and have none of the powdery, tinny, or 'nasal' qualities of inferior perfume oils. There is a deepness and profundity in their scents that is a rare treat. A very small amount lasts all day, and them some. Despite their small size, I have found that even with every day use, a bottle will last 3-4 months. The price tag of approximately $8.00 makes this a fetching bargain. The small 1 dram bottles fit easily into a zipper pocket of a purse, and are very practical and accident proof with their roll-on applicator and secure, twist-on lids.
The Kuumba Made website is quite informative, well organized, and user friendly. The oils and their other products are available via this website. The only drawback on the site that I have found is that there is no 'store locator' feature, but there are various ways to contact the company for customer service, and a list of local distributors could be acquired via that route.
There are 39 fragrance oils listed, and a note that states more are available upon request. Kuumba Made offers 2 sampler kits the various fragrance oils, each containing 4 different scents. This is a great way to sample several fragrances and find out which one appeals to you most, before purchasing full size bottles. According to the information about the oils in their website, they can be used for more than just perfume. Although the Kuumba Made oils I have found in stores have all been the small dram size with the perfume oriented roll-on feature, larger sizes can be ordered through the website. They are versatile as environmental oils, lotion and massage oil additives, and bath oils.
Also according to the website, Kuumba Made oils and other products are derived from traditional and ancient recipes from North Africa and the Middle East. They assert no petroleum, alcohol, harmful chemicals, or animal products are used in any of their items. The oils are truly top quality, and I urge you to give them a try.
