7 Cedars Casino is a Las Vegas-style casino operated by the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. Actually located in the small town of Blynn, the casino is about 5 miles from Sequim. It is easy to spot with its assortment of totem poles and beautiful signage out front. It is an easy site to see near Sequim, Washington.
The casino has over 300 slot machines and 50+ table games. There are some Three Stooges slot machines that are just too much fun! And, there are three restaurants on-site with prices ranging from high to deli range. This casino is also noted for their $6 complete steak meal.
Throughout the casino and in the entranceway, one can see the craftsmanship of various pieces of furniture. There are hand-carved furniture pieces that are worth admiration.
Across the street from the casino, on the waterfront, is a Native American art gallery and small park. The view is beautiful overlooking Discovery Bay. Visitors need to stop in this park to appreciate the history and natural beauty of the area.

For something totally different and entertaining, head over to the Olympic Game Farm. There are retired movie and television stars here. Remember the bear on Grizzly Adams? He's here. This place is a must see in Sequim, Washington.
This attraction offers visitors the option of taking either a car or walk tour of the animal farm. There is an assortment of endangered and non-endangered animals here. Visitors can get up close to the animals. In fact, when I went to take the car tour, I was given the disclaimer speech. I was told that the bison were rambunctious that day. They were known for rubbing their heads and horns on car hoods. One had even tore off an outdoor mirror earlier in the day. Seeing that my car was brand new, I turned down the car tour. I went on the walking tour instead. It was just as much fun and I even fed the llamas.
There's a gift shop and an aquarium on site, also. The location is rather isolated making for a great park area.

For those in the mood for walking, Dungeness Spit is where you want to go. This is known as one of the longest natural sand spits in the country. It is part of the Dungeness Recreation Area and National Park System, and provides a variety of walks. There is a short trail through the woods. That's an easy, even elevation walk. Then, upon walking out of the woods…there's the wildlife bird refuge along the shore and the spit. The view is spectacular. Walk the 5 miles to the lighthouse during low tide. The 5-mile walk is a workout.
Restrictions apply for the spit. Camping is available. Call them at 360-457-8451. Or, visit them online at www.newdungenesslighthouse.com.

Post a CommentI believe that there used to be a small two-bedroom house on the same site where the casino in Blynn is now. I looked on a map and, if I am right I lived in that house for a short time 30 years ago.
