Top Spots for Burgers in Lancaster, PA

Leigh S.
Let's be honest. Lancaster has many awesome chain restaurants. But when you're looking for something a bit more tasty than the McDouble, there are a few surprising places you can check out around Lancaster, PA

One of the obvious choices is Fuddruckers. Located on Lincoln Highway east near the Host resort, you'll find it a great place to stop after a day of playing at Dutch Wonderland or a day of shopping at the outlets. Fuddruckers offers a family friendly environment, a custom burger menu. When you arrive, you'll order your food and get your drinks. Every time I eat there, by the time you order, get your drink and find a table, you wait only around 10 minutes for your food! Obviously a burger joint, but the menu offers many options! Beyond burgers, they offer chicken sandwiches, shrimp, steak and Ostrich burgers (very tasty, and very healthy)! In addition, they have your typical sides, and milkshakes for desert! Rough day? Grab a bottle of beer. While prices are more than your fast food joint, you'll be impressed with the combo meals that come with two sides. With two combos, the bill runs around $20 bucks. For more info and history on the company, check out www.fuddruckers.com.

Come to think of it, I've never disliked anything I've had at Chili's. That goes for their burgers as well! Chili's is awesome because of their upbeat atmosphere. Whether you sit at the bar or in the main dining room, you're part of the action. Chili's has three options when it comes to burgers: The Southern Smokehouse Burger (which has smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and the standard Mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickle) which comes with a ancho-chile BBQ sauce which makes all the difference! The second best, which is something I get most often is the "Old Timer." It's a standard burger with red onions but they still manage to pack it full of flavor. Chili's also offers big mouth bites, which are four mini burgers similar to the Smokehouse. Chili's service is top notch and you'll be sure to have a great time. For a location closest to you, and more information on the menu, visit their website at: www.chilis.com.

If you're going for a more relaxed and quiet atmosphere, you might want to visit J.B. Dawnson's at Park City Center. Dawson's is a step up from Chili's but still offers great plates at affordable prices. Their mission is to serve high quality food by using the freshest and finest ingredients. And they've accomplished that mission! If you're craving a burger, make sure to get their Bacon Blue burger! It's topped with Blue Cheese, bacon, dressing, lettuce and tomato and is one of the tastiest items on the menu. Served with your choice of a side, all for 9 bucks! Call ahead on weekends for reservations as it fills up quickly. To view their plentiful menu, visit: www.jbdawsons.com.
