Popular tween destinations offer tweens a variety of activities and experiences. Most tweens enjoy beach or adventure Spring Break vacations, and some might even appreciate a Spring Break vacation that offers some educational benefits. Whichever Spring Break vacation destination you choose for your tween, you are sure to find the following destinations tween-friendly.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has been a tween and teen favorite Spring Break destination for the past few decades. The famous Grand Strand offers tweens the Atlantic coast beaches for swimming, body boarding, and sunbathing. During Spring Break, Myrtle Beach is alive with vacationers, and there are many teens and tweens around for socializing.
Myrtle Beach has plenty of restaurants, mini-golf, and amusement park rides to keep tweens active. The main strip is the best place to stay with a tween, since it is within walking distance to many nearby activities.
Disney World/Universal Studios Orlando
Disney World and Universal Studios are two of the premier highlights of a trip to Orlando, Florida. This is an ideal Spring Break destination for tweens who love a fast-paced vacation. The entertainment and attractions at both Disney World and Universal Studios are second to none.
Orlando is also a great Spring Break vacation destination for those who want some sunshine on their Spring Break trip. Orlando is warm and sunny during Spring Break months, offering plenty of pool time for tweens.
Spring Break Cruise to Mexico or the Bahamas
One of the most popular Spring Break vacations with tweens is a cruise. Spring Break is a popular time for families with tweens and teens to take a cruise, and many of the main cruise lines will have plenty of tweens aboard. Cruises offer tweens some independence, and most major cruise lines have special tween and teen clubs and activities onboard.
Aside from all the fun for tweens on the ship, tweens will enjoy a cruise that offers port calls. Excursions can range from beach parties to adventure zip lining tours in the jungle. Adventurous tweens will enjoy the variety of excursions available on cruises. Carnival, Royal Carribbean, and Norwegian are among the three top cruise lines for tweens.
Disneyland & California
West Coast Spring Break vacations for tweens can be a great choice for tweens who want to visit Disneyland. Disneyland is located central to a number of other California attractions, including the coastal beaches and Hollywood. Tweens can combine a visit to Disneyland with any number of local side trips, all within a 30-minute drive.
Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. is the place to go for tweens who want to add some history to their Spring Break vacation. The sheer number of educational adventures in Washington, D.C. will please both parents and tweens. Williamsburg, Virginia can be added as a stop for a Washington, D.C. vacation.
The Smithsonian, historic Georgetown, the Lincoln Memorial, and dozens of other historical sites are located in Washington, D.C. Tours are available for tweens who want a guided experience.
St. Petersburg, Florida
The Gulf Coast of Florida offers tweens a gorgeous water playground for a Spring Break vacation. St. Petersburg and the surrounding towns of Madiera Beach, Tampa, Indian Rocks Beach, and other nearby beach towns are great places to spend some beach time. Fishing excursions, shelling, beach activities, and tropical sunshine are just a few reasons tweens may like this destination for a Spring Break vacation.
Families who want to get the comforts of home can find several condominium rentals available at sites such as vacation rentals by owner (vbro.com).

All great ideas! The tweens can be a very difficult age...
Brilliant idea for a topic. I hadn't thought of spring break destinations for tweens.
I disagree on Myrtle Beach being a good place for tweens or young children. It's definitely not a family beach anymore.
Great write up.
great choices!
