Top Tech and Electronics Deal Websites

Phillip Chan
For most techies, relying on Best Buy or Fry's Electronics to get the job done simply isn't enough. For specialized needs, dirt cheap prices, and huge selections, the Internet is the best place to start shopping. Check out these great electronic deal websites today to save big and score on some sweet accessories.

DealExtreme

DealExtreme offers an absolutely enormous array of techie parts and pieces. All kinds of equipment is sold on this website, some more anime and gaming inspired, while others are straight hardware. It's an especially great website for finding random periphery attachments, be it USB cables of all shapes and sizes, flash drives of all storage capacities, touchpads, game controllers, even GPS hardware. I have been super impressed with the awesome LED accessories they have, all great for highlighting hardcore geek power. Also, be sure to check out the awesome 7'' touchscreen device running Android OS 1.6, selling for a little over $100 (take that, iPad!). DealExtreme is definitely a great website to visit and shop for all your electronic needs. The only downside is that many of their items are shipped from overseas, so expect fairly long shipping times.

MeritLine

Want a keychain blood alcohol tester? A universal USB cell charger? How about a bargain priced LED headlamp for ninja adventurers or nighttime car mechanical work? Items as low as $0.39, even with shipping included? Check out MeritLine. While it does ship from overseas, it has some insanely good deals on many electronics items. I recently snagged two universal card readers (SD, MicroSD, Compact Flash, and more) for under $4, with shipping included. Definitely also check out their Daily Deal! MeritLine focuses on flash memory and related accessories, but they sell all kinds of other electronic gadgets, sure to please bargain-hunter techies worldwide.

TigerDirect
http://www.tigerdirect.com/
Unlike the above websites, TigerDirect sells items that often ship from the United States, making deals arrive even faster to your doorstep. They sell and HUGE selection of items, from MP3 players to laptops to super-long Ethernet cables and everything in between. I have noticed that their prices tend to be slightly better than the other big electronics website on the Internet, Newegg.com (also one of my favorites, just one of the more pricey ones). TigerDirect is based out of Florida and is really popular with the tech crowd. Their website is a little cluttered, and they do sell more non-name brand stuff than NewEgg, but I still visit their website for great electronic deals.
