Top Ten Albums of the Decade

What We Listened to in the New Millenium

Music is subjective, heart pounding, heart wrenching, and controversial. Nothing is controversial than naming what you consider the best album, especially something as popular as top pop albums.

10.John Mayer- Continuum
We'll start off the top 10 pop albums of the decade with this Chapelle Show starring singer-songwriter, who hit pay dirt with Continuum, which featured the popular 'Waiting on the World to Change' and the soulful 'Gravity'. This album paved the way for the success of 'Heavier Things'.

9. Christina Aguilera- Back to Basics
This was the album where Miss Aguilera went from a girl to a woman. It had sophistication, class, and a little dirty. The must hear for me was the fast paced, 'Ain't No Other Man'.

8. Kala- M.I.A.
M.I.A. was in slumbering in an underground dreamland before the song 'Paper Planes' hit. I'm glad she woke up.

7. Music-Madonna
Not many have the staying power of the 'Material Girl'. Music's title track was a booty shaking, hit the strip, song that got me and my girls pumped for the party.

6. Gorillaz- Demon Days
Who didn't like quoting 'Feel Good, Inc's', So don't stop, get it, get it.

5. Alicia Keys- The Diary of Alicia Keys
This girl had everyone at 'Fallin' at her feet and hasn't looked back.

4. N'Sync- No Strings Attached
My guilty pleasure. Sorry Backstreet Boys, but it ain't no lie, baby, 'Bye, Bye, Bye'.

3.Amy Winehouse- Back to Black
The songs 'Rehab' was infectious and seems autobiographical. My personal favorite was the gut wrenching, soul stirring 'Back to Black'.

2. Coldplay- Viva La Vida
This is an album was true artistry. You saw young and not so young with the windows rolled up and the music blasting the title track from this album.

1. Justin Timberlake- FutureSex/LoveSounds
Not many could deny Justin Timberlake his piece in history with one of the top pop albums, ever. Nor could one have imagined that with Timbaland in his corner and his first solo album, 'Justified' under his belt, Timberlake no longer evoked the feelings of a former N'Sync'er and used 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' to bring 'SexyBack'.
