This subtle look at evolution is quite unique and beautiful. It seems as though nature is being imitated within the strands of urbanization as it stretches forth its hand across the world.
Done with soft colors, and a simple but complimentary sound track, it really is a work of art.
9. Canvas
This simple film shows the evolution of the landscape, from pastoral forests to houses, to towns, cities, and beyond.
While not technically an animation, as it is an artist drawing and redrawing his work, it has the qualities of an animation as it is all conveyed through illustrations.
What happens when a lowly animator gives his stick figure god like powers? Watch as all heck breaks loose on the screen and they use every program available in their war.
7. Paper Wars
This one has a little bit of everything. An artist drawing and intruding on his figures, stick figure battles, romance, and dragon slaying. It's well done with nice sound affects, and the speech is done in an interesting manner with picture filled speech bubbles.
Everyone knows pong, the game. The movie has been around for a while, but it is one of the best animations. Starting out with a simple game of pong everything breaks out into an all out battle when the paddles have an argument over who is winning. This one even has a car chase.
5. Sigg Jones
This animation has a distinct comic book feel with its fight scenes, and greater then normal action. The way they move, the flashes of light and streaks of background, it all works together to give just the right feel.
4. Hello
Hello is a lovely romance story which shows the ups and downs of romance. In a very unique and stylistic way this short puts a new spin on romance between two polar opposites.
3. Kuku
This adorable little animated robot takes the cake. It's cute, witty, and to the point with lots of feeling, and no words but those written on the posters.
Making Fiends is a series of interesting little short animations. While at first the episodes seem a little strange, you really have to love the way Vendetta is thwarted at every step by the simple minded Charlotte.
And the best, all time, SF video on the web:
1. Rock Fish
This fantastically done short animation is the best I have ever found on the web. The graphics are beautiful, the story line filled with non stop action that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the ending is quite satisfying. Not a word is spoken throughout the whole movie, but words are not needed. The action says it all.
