Top Ten Best SingStar Songs for PlayStation 3

Let's face it - not everyone has a beautiful voice. But with SingStar, you can turn your vocals up or down and pretend like you're the star of the show. Picking the right song is sometimes difficult, though. Despite PlayStation picking some pretty mid-range music, you're still not going to be able to sing everything. But here's some of the easiest songs to sing (or fake) on PlayStation SingStar.

10. "When I See You Smile" by Bad English

The beginning isn't so easy - Bad English doesn't necessarily have a direct tune in mind for the verse. But once it kicks into gear, almost anyone can sing the prechorus and chorus sections. Plus, if you're with a partner, you're guaranteed to sound equally terrible.

9. "Nine in the Afternoon" by Panic at the Disco

You'll think you just stepped into a Beatles music video, but this one's pretty fly for a couple guys who have their times and dates all mixed up. You'll probably feel like an idiot singing to this one, but, also characteristically Beatlesque, the melody is easy to catch on to and sing with, even if you don't know it. Pretty much a no-brainer for any guy or girl.

8. "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" by Elton John and Kee Kee Dee

If you've got a man and woman to sing it, great. If not, have the girl with the lower voice sing Elton's part or the guy with the higher voice sing Kee Kee's part, if you're pairing up with your own kind. This one's pretty long, but the notes are surprisingly easy to reach, even the "Hoo -hoo, and nobody knows it" in the middle.

7. "Bust a Move" by Young MC

This rap classic speaks for itself, but just you see how easy it is to rap to the beat - and in the right tone of voice. Otherwise, your score will read "Bad" or "Terrible!" on the side. No kidding. But it's fun for those who are uncomfortable singing in front of others.

6. "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield

This one's pretty much girls-only, and it's also easier to sing than you might expect. Once you get past the somewhat clumsy beginning (for those who are out of practice), the prechorus will get you all worked up, and you'll have earned the Hit Artist achievement by the time the second chorus rolls around.

5. "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles

Yes, they killed this to death on the radio, but it's still fun to sing to, even if you're a guy. I will warn you, though - there's a part in the middle that the radio doesn't usually play. It's so clumsy it's almost incoherent, but after a few tries, you'll get it. It almost doesn't fit with the song, so don't worry if you stumble through it.

4. "In Love with a Girl" by Gavin DeGraw

Despite what you might think of Gavin DeGraw in general, you should give this song a fair shot. Girls can have as much fun singing with it as guys, and in my personally humble opinion, I think it's a must-sing for anyone playing SingStar. There's just a few notes that go a little too low for my liking, but that's where the guys might enjoy singing, so give this one a shot.

3. "Crushcrushcrush" by Paramore

Okay, so not everyone's a Paramore fan, but then again, you might never have heard of this one. It's more serious than, say, "That's What You Get" and not as acidic as "Misery Business." In fact, it could almost fool you for an eighties song in the verse. It's definitely one of my favorites.

2. "Beverly Hills" by Weezer

How can you resist such a down-and-out hit? If you're feeling glum about not being as well off as Hugh Hefner, here's a guy who sympathizes... as he's performing in Hugh's backyard. You can even get away with singing as terribly as possible - there's no definite tune, it seems, and it's painfully easy to follow. A great hit for guys and girls alike.

1. "Prayer of the Refugee" by Rise Against

You can't go a SingStar session without playing a punk rock/hard rock song, and "Prayer of the Refugee" is just the ticket. The vocals don't go too low or too high, and you can't help but nod your head to the anthem style of this chorus. For anyone who wants to display their independent, can-do attitude, this is the song for you.
