Top Ten Best TV Shows for Kids

Here are ten of the best TV shows that currently play on TV for kids and they are all on the Disney Channel so you know that what you're children are watching is quality entertainment without all of the mature content you might find in shows on another network. I have listed my favorites starting at number 10, 1 is my most favorite.

10. That's So Raven - Even though this show has not filmed any new shows in almost 4 years, the reruns still play on the Disney Channel and my daughter absolutely loves the show. It stars Raven Symone as Raven Baxter, who has the psychic ability to see events that are soon to come. Her best friend Chelsea is kind of an airhead and her little brother Eddie is a royal pain in the neck like all younger siblings are.

9. Life With Derek - Though the series just ended in March they still play the shows on Disney Channel and my daughter faithfully watches them. This fictional show depicts the life of two divorced parents whom each have kids from their previous marriage(the dad has 3 the mom has 2) that get married and try to merge their blended family. All of the new siblings argue and fight for status in the new family. It is just a wholesomely entertaining show that is funny too.

8. My Friends Tigger and Pooh - You gotta love Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too. This show has all your all time favorite Pooh and his friends characters but has now added Darby who is a 6 year old girl and her dog Buster. You get to follow along with them as they go on all sorts of adventures.

7. Sonny With A Chance - This new family comedy on the Disney channel follows the life of Sonny Monroe as she stars as the new live comedy show called So Random. Sonny's character is played by Demi Lavato and if you haven't heard of her I am sure your daughter, niece, etc has. Demi has had a few music videos on the Disney Channel, at least one of them with Selena Gomez.

6. Imagination Movers - Imagination Movers are a children's music group that formed in New Orleans in 2003. Disney started a television series for kids starring this group in 2008. The show is geared more toward preschool aged children but my 8 and 9 year old children like watching this show for it's music and because the guys are always in some sticky situation.

5. Suite Life On Deck - If anyone remembers the cute kid that Adam Sandler tries to adopt from the movie Big Daddy then you will recognize Cole and Dylan Sprouse as Zack and Cody Martin. Brenda Song also stars in this funny show as London Tipton who is a very spoiled and wealthy teenage girl. I'm sure your children and maybe even you will love this show, it's very funny and entertaining.

4. Phineas and Ferb - This animated TV show depicts the life of 2 bored stepbrothers and their snoopy older sister who are all on summer vacation. The show is very funny as it shows two boys that try creative ways to spend their days of summer vacation but their sister is constantly trying to foil their plans by telling on them to their mother.

3. Wizards of Waverly Place - Imagine having a family with 3 children in your neighborhood and all three of those children have magical abilities. That is the plot of this fun family show. Selena Gomez is the most famous of the cast. The dad is a former wizard and the mother is a mortal. The three siblings are not allowed to use magic without supervision and unfortunately for them later on in life they have to have a magical competition where whichever sibling wins will be the only one out of the three of them that can keep their magical abilities in adulthood. But what young person with magical powers is not going to try to use their special abilities to better their life or get out of tough situations. Selena Gomez is the main sibling that breaks that rule and always manages to get caught.

2. Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream - Jonas Brothers are everywhere, they have a TV show on the Disney channel, I just saw a concert of theirs on one of the movie channels I subscribe to, they have tshirts, book bags, and basically everything else you can think of for sale at Walmart, Sears, and JCPenney. Their show is very funny though it depicts 3 musical brothers as they write songs, try to have friendships with people that don't just like them for their fame, and of course girl trouble.

1. Hannah Montana - If you have not yet heard of Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus you must be living under a rock because there are accessories, clothes, Barbie dolls, and other toys with the Hannah Montana played by Miley Cyrus likeness. The show follows the life of a teenage girl who is leading a double life. She is plain old Miley Stewart by day and pop singing superstar Hannah Montana by night. She has to hide the famous side of her life from everyone other than close family and friends so that she can lead a normal life when she's not the pop star.
The show is highly entertaining and extremely funny. Also a movie based on the famous TV show called Hannah Montana The Movie is now available to own on dvd and Blu ray discs.
