Top Ten California Community Colleges

There are many good California Community Colleges, but of those I chose ten that will offer great locations, certain popular courses; and if there are on-campus living arrangements. It's best to get your money's worth, right? But, of course! And along with the costs, I may be able to include some low cost fees for being a resident of California.

Shall we start at the top? Of course, I'm smiling because it's kinda ironic how it's a cliché and a literal statement-HA! Anywho.

For those who may live in the upper Northern region of California or maybe a resident of either Oregon or Nevada may wish to attend College of the Redwoods. College of the Redwoods, is a California Community College in Eureka, California, located in a large town setting, offering freshmen room and board for a 'partial refundable' $435 deposit, but it doesn't have standard test requirements, such as the SAT or ACT.

Remaining in the Northern territory, but going a bit eastward, Lassen College is another one of California's Community Colleges. Located in Susanville, California, Lassen College is in a small-town where more than 4% of the students live on-campus. Maybe some of the upperclassmen have their plans to stay in Vegas on weeknights, and then back home with the parents on the weekends...LOL. Not funny, I guess-well, am moving along. Either that or maybe it's the out-of-state tuition of more than $3,000.

Going towards the center of the state of California, Fresno City College is popular as one of California's Community Colleges. Located in a major city in California, Fresno City College has more than 20,000 students enrolled and is one of California's first Community Colleges. Fresno City College has a 100% ratio for applications received and applications admitted. Which would best be explained by special interests courses such as a 25-month AA Program; you'll earn your Associates degree in Business Administrative Program. Another good interest for Fresno City College enrollees, would be the Weekend College Program. A program designed for the working people with further education in mind.

Merced College is located in the Central area of California, and has a 100% ratio for applications received, admission offered and the ratio of those offered to accept; that's wonderful. Credit for that may fall in the lines of Merced College being in a large town setting, where families are remaining traditional. And if people are looking for a closer area to the Bay Area of California, then Berkeley City College may be the way to go.

I just noticed that we haven't visited the western part of California. Well, the most western I can go as far as community colleges, is West Hills College in Coalinga, California. It's just below the actual Bay Area, and just above the Southern California cities. Almost sounds like the perfect spot. Coalinga is considered a small town, but the enrollment status for West Hills is more than 6,000 students with a 20:1 student-teacher ratio. 20% of the students live on campus, and nearly 1500 of the students are using financial aid.

Since I mentioned the Bay Area of California, I may as well give those in that area a bit of assistance on good Community Colleges in California. Glendale Community College is in a good location, especially being in the Bay Area, and also close to Los Angeles. Glendale Community College receives over 10,000 applications and of those, 100% are offered admission; Glendale Community College does not require you to have had a high school graduation.

Now, before I go way on down to the most southern part of California, I would like to share two California Community Colleges in the southeastern part of the state; Bakersfield College and Barstow College. Both are located in small areas of California, but Barstow is considered to be a smaller town. Barstow College charges only $4,498 for out-of-state students.

Bakersfield College, considerably larger by a 12,991 enrollment status, offers a vast selection of academic courses for arts and sciences, with on-campus activities such as athletic programs and teams.

Well, if you live in the most southern part of California or wish to attend a college there, Palo Verde College in Blythe, California is there. And if you're looking for that small town family-oriented place for higher education, Palo Verde is the place. With a low enrollment of 4,792, this college maintains it's 'family' outlook on education. And this can be proved by the 100% ratio Palo Verde has all the way across the board! For every application received by the College in Southern California, there has been admission offered and accepted! How about that-smile.
