Who will President Bush pardon when he leaves office? One of the most powerful rights that can be given to a President is the right to pardon criminals. The last president before Bush, who was Bill Clinton, pardoned 140 people near the end of his term according to a US Department of Justice website. Some of those pardoned included the President's brother Roger Clinton and twenty-two people convicted of drug crimes.

The current President Bush's father pardoned 129 people by the time he left office.

Pardons typically happen at the end of a Presidential Term which may help to explain the pardon choices. Current President Bush has already pardoned "Scooter" Libby who worked in his White House.
