It's always the right time for a good laugh. The winter months can be long, cold and depressing, so lift your spirits by watching some or all of these great comedies of 2009. Here are ten comedies that are sure to offer some entertainment and some fun.

1. The Hangover is a rip-roaring, side-splitting comedy about a bachelor party in La Vegas. The morning after they arrive in Las Vegas the groom is missing, the room is trashed and no one remembers anything about the night before. In order to find the groom and get some answers, they follow the clues left behind. You have to watch this movie to believe the situations they get themselves into. The Hangover is the perfect example of an over-the-top bachelor party.

2. Paul Blart Mall Cop is the story of a somewhat out of shape security guard who works at a New Jersey mall and rides a scooter. He's always wanted to become a real cop, but he never passes the physical. He falls for the owner of a kiosk. He becomes even more awkward and clumsy when he's around her. On Black Friday a group of crooks try to take over the mall. They have his daughter and the woman he likes captive. Paul decides he is going to rescue them and save the mall. This movie is extremely funny and can be watched as a family. We really liked it.

3. Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian is a great sequel to the original Night at the Museum. The Museum of Natural History is being renovated and the exhibits are put in storage in the Smithsonian Institute. Larry, the security guard, has to sneak into the Smithsonian to rescue Jedediah and Octavius and stop bad things from happening. You need to watch the wildly funny antics that happen as Larry tries to save the day. This also is a great movie to watch with the whole family.

4. Pink Panther 2 is the sequel to the 2006 Pink Panther movie starring the hilarious Steve Martin. The story begins when priceless artifacts, including the pink panther diamond, are stolen. Inspector Clouseau is called to help get them back. The shoe becomes instantaneously funny as soon as Steve Martin is involved. We think it is as good as the first one.

5. Bruno is the male host of a late night fashion show. This is your type of movie if you liked Borat, then you'll love Bruno.

6. Pirate Radio is the story of eight deejay's on a boat in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. They broadcast rock and roll music and break the laws to do it. At the time this was the ultimate act of standing up against the British Government. This is a great movie full of awesome music and tremendously funny and talented people. You must see this movie.

7. Funny People starring Seth Rogan and Adam Sandler is about a stand-up comedian who finds out he has a terminal illness. He befriends an up and coming comedian and makes him his assistant. When his illness goes into remission he decides to re-evaluate his life and figure out what's really important to him. Adam Sandler is great in this funny but touching movie.

8. Up is an animated comedy about a retired balloon salesman. He decides to fulfill his lifelong dream of seeing the wilds of South America. So he ties thousands of balloons to his house and sets out on his adventure. He doesn't realize he has a stow-a-way. On his adventure he makes unique friends and experiences adventures that he didn't count on. Up is amusing movie for people of all ages.

9. Observe and Report is yet another film starring the funny Seth Rogan. It is the story of a mall security guard hoping to catch the mall flasher so that he can prove himself worthy. He thinks that if he can do that then he will be able to become a real cop. This movie is hilarious, but may not be suitable for the whole family.

10.Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a movie based on one of my favorite children's books. It is the story of an inventor who wants to create an invention that would improve the world. Food begins raining down from the sky and things get quickly out of control. This is a fantastic family film especially for those who read and loved the book!
