Top Ten Dreamy Owl City Beats

Phillip Chan
Owl City, a music project by talented musician Adam Young, started out as a music hobby in his parent's basement. Since then, Owl City transformed into a best-selling hit with several wonderful albums, rave reviews and packed out concerts. Something about the dreamlike quality of his songs really pulls me back, keeping me listening to them over and over. Here are my top ten favorite songs by Owl City

Fireflies (from the album Ocean Eyes)

A simplistic song about the beauty of sleep, dreams, and, of course, fireflies. This one really took off, taking the Billboard Hot 100 #1 spot soon after its release. It is the album single for Ocean Eyes.

Hello Seattle (from the album Ocean Eyes)

This is the first song I listened to from Owl City and I still enjoy it. The remix version is on this album and is still a great song

Hot Air Balloon (from the album Ocean Eyes)

The childlike quality of imagination takes off in this lifting song about soaring in a homemade balloon.

The Saltwater Room (from the album Ocean Eyes)

The nice background vocals of Breanne Duren really add to this delightful song, one I enjoy playing in my car as I cruise to the beach.

Dear Vienna (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

"The world is such a sad place"echoes some of the same sentiment I see in the news everyday

Super Honeymoon (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

Owl City describes a sci-fi honeymoon, complete with a trip to outer space in this fun-filled song.

Air Traffic (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

Air Traffic is one of the most "dreamy" or "floaty" songs Owl City has on Maybe I'm Dreaming.

Rainbow Veins (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

Shooting a rainbow through your vein may sound like a sneaky drug reference to some, but it is really just an expression of the euphoria for life conveyed in this song.

Vanilla Twilight (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

This song describes the lost love the main singer has, and the beat is just simply fantastic. I really enjoy the simple wonder and love expressed in this song. The music video is pretty interesting too, with some pretty awesome scenery shots that really match the ambiance of Owl City's beats.

This Is the Future (from album Maybe I'm Dreaming)

This Is the Future is just a fun, fun song from this album. It can be hard to describe, but something about it just makes me smile whenever I listen to it.

That is only a short list, I could go on and on about the different songs I like from Owl City. Check him out today at OwlCityMusic.com.
