Top Ten Female Music Artists

Women musicians have come along way throughout the history of music. The sound of melody is an aspiring jingle to our ears. Female artists have inspired young girls to pursue their dreams in the harsh world of music. The entertainment business isn't easy to get into. Out of the history of female musicians who is the best of all time? There is so many to choose upon but there is only ten to make this list.

CHER. This vocalist has the longest music career in the music world. Cher has been creating amazing hits for over thirty four years. Her career isn't coming to an end any time soon. She is most famous for being the second half of the duo, Sonny and Cher. Their famous song to be forever remembered is "I got you babe."

MADONNA. She isn't just a vocalist but a dancer, actress, and entrepreneur. Her talents has taken the world by storm. In 2008, Madonna was voted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. She has been recording music since the early 1980's. In her career as a musician, she has appeared in more than twenty films.

WHITNEY HOUSTON. Did you know Whitney Houston has sold over a hundred million albums in her career as an artist? Those large amount of numbers of albums sold has ranked her number as an artist. As a female musician she has acted in a few films, such as The bodyguard , Waiting to Exhale, and Cinderella. She has had many personal struggles in her music career for instance her marriage to Bobby Brown and her allegations of drug abuse.

ARETHA FRANKLIN. . This woman is also known as the "Queen of Soul." Aretha Franklin goes deeper than the roots of pop music. She has an outstanding career in the gospel world of music. Her and her other sisters are all recording divas. A few of her hits are from Atlantic records, and are "Respect," and "I never loved a man (the way I love you). These hits and so much more has given her the title, "Lady Soul. " Aretha Franklin has been going strong since the late 1950's.

ANNIE LENNOX. This woman has sold more than a thousand albums that has captured our hearts and souls. Her music career began with a group entitled; "The tourists." What truly put her on the top is her David Stewart and her created a duo together.

JUDY GARLAND. She is most famous for "Somewhere over the rainbow." Her singing has captured our hearts and our memories. Judy Garland isn't just famous for this one of a kind song, she has captured our hearts through out the years through many television shows as well as other songs. Her part as Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz," is a favorite among all adults and children.

TINA TURNER. This rock singer has been around for more than forty years. In early years as a singer, she performed for Ike Turner and his kings of rhythm band. They later got married, and soon ended in divorce several years soon after. One of her favorite hits in her career is "What does love got to do with it?" Her success as female musician is one of the most amazing careers to be known in the music industry.

MARIAH CAREY. She is more than just a singer, but a songwriter. Mariah has performed with some of the most great performers of all time, for example; Boyz 11 Men. This remarkable woman has appeared on various talk shows, such as Rachel Ray, Oprah Winfrey, and Jimmy Kimmel. She is one of the few artists who has more than five number one songs.

CELINE DION. "My heart go will go on," from the movie, "Titanic," is a song that most reminds us of the singer. But as an artist has one of the highest pitched voice among other female vocalists in the industry. In early days of her career she performed a song for the Disney cartoon favorite, "Beauty and the beast." Her amazing high pitched voice has given her the ability to capture fans

SELENA QUINTANILLA-PEREZ. She didn't have the opportunity to become a bigger star than she already was. Selena lost her life to her fan club manager. But in her life she did touch the life's of many fans. Even though she doesn't live on, her music and spirit does continue touch our hearts. Jennifer Lopez played the beautiful Selena in a movie about the young, gorgeous Latin pop singer.

This list of female musicians are just the beginning of the fabulous women who have created wonderful music to our ears. They have inspired young girls to become anything want. Each woman has brought their own inspiration and style to the world of music. Music will never be the same without these women.

    This is junk content at its finest, and a good example of why junk content makes it difficult to find genuine, well-researched journalism on the web. How do junk content barns get their articles to appear first in searches? Poor grammar aside, the information in this article is arbitrary at best and inaccurate at worst.
