Top Ten George Strait Hits

Cheryl Engelke
George Strait, affectionately known as King George to his fans, has recorded more than 50 number one hits. His true to Texas southern drawl and refusal to turn to "mainstream" top 40 music has earned him fans all over the world. Humble in nature, Strait has stuck to his roots and stayed true to traditional country music his entire career.

The Top Ten George Strait songs of all time:

1. "Amarillo By Morning" sang from the perspective of a rodeo cowboy being on the rodeo circuit.

2. "Troubadour" Describes Strait perfectly, telling how he will always be just what he is, a storyteller in his own right.

3. "I Saw God Today" Reminds people to see God in the little things.

4. "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls" Pays tribute to the hard working woman behind the man. George sings that even though he's been all over the world and seen the most beautiful things, cowgirls are the most beautiful.

5. "I Know That she Still Loves Me" is very true to life because no matter how much you love someone, sometimes you don't like them very much.

6. "The Cowboy Rides Away" The Ultimate leaving song, when you've tried and tried time to call it quits.

7. "She Let Herself Go" Talks of a woman who was left because she wasn't good enough and how she overcomes it and really "lets go".

8. "I Hate Everything" puts into words the thoughts of an alcoholic who has lost it all

9. "You Look So Good In Love" tells of a man seeing his ex truly in love with someone else

10. "Cowboys Like Us" talks about the modern day cowboy.
