10) Gourmet coffees, teas, etc - This can provide a much needed pick-me-up to those early morning meetings. Buy a variety of flavors that can easily fit the mood and tastes of the coffee or tea drinker. You can also include cookies and other goodies to go with the drinks. And remember, presentation is everything. A decorative basket with a nice bow will make a great display for your gift.
9) A business card holder - A chic and stylish business card holder can give even the most confident attorney an extra boost. Select a style that reflects the personality of the person. You may want to personalize it by engraving firm names and other information in the business card holder.
8) Nameplate - When it comes to the nameplates, its all about personal style. There are dozen of types which you can choose from. Engraved silver, bronze, or wood are the standard. For an extra special gift that will make a lasting impression, select a solid glass nameplate.
7) A letter opener - a sleek letter opener can bring much class and style to the desk of an attorney. They come in many styles and with various distinguishing insignias. Try a clear handled with a scale of justice imprint.
6) Personalized pen set - Everyone loves a good writing pen. And nothing is cooler than handing a client or clerk a pen and having your name engraved on it (best way to cut down on stolen pens). 5) A leather brief case - leather briefcase will help the attorney in your life transport all of the materials he or she may need throughout their day…notebooks, pens, file folders etc. The leather case can also be used to transport documents home, because lets face it, the day doesn't end at 7:00 pm. When looking for the perfect leather briefcase, look for one that also has leather handle for that extra support needed when carrying the laptop too.
4) A piece of art - Attorneys spend hours upon hours in their offices. A decorative piece of art can create an atmosphere in and office as well as show personality. Choosing art can be a daunting project, so think carefully about the person you are giving the gift to. It should reflect that style and taste of the attorney. The art can range from simple, black and white photography to lively abstract pieces. The sky is the limit on this one.
3) The game of golf (or other recreational activities) - The hectic schedule of an attorney rarely leaves time for fun, but occasionally one may have a weekend to let loose. Or what better way to schmooze with the clients in an informal setting than on the golf course? Search local courses for all-day package deals. You can accompany the certificate with a brand new golf set too. If golf isn't their game of choice, you can purchase other recreational gift packages or membership to a local gym
2) Electronics and/or accessories - Whether your attorney is a techie or not, everyone enjoys the latest gidgets and gadgets. The latest palm pilot for someone you know really well. iPods and other mP3 players also make great gifts.
1) Personalized accessories - Cufflinks, ties clips the big time corporate types can wow clients in meetings and mediations. The personalized accessories will make the attorney in your life stand out among their peers at a formal Bar Association functions.
10) Degree Framing - the framing of degrees and licenses is a perfect gift for the attorney who has been too busy to do it for themselves. This is especially true of a recent law school grad that isn't yet rolling in the big bucks. This gift is both thoughtful and practical. When thinking about the matting, be mindful of school colors or colors that are neutral and will work in the office setting. Framing can be a bit costly with prices ranging between $100 and $200 per degree (this may vary depending on the cost of the frame). But shop around. During the holiday season you are bound to run into some good sales.
