Nintendo Wii
Find out from your geek if this is something they want, or if they'd prefer the next one down. Geeks are deeply divided between love for all things Nintendo, and love for the best in gaming platforms. Nintendo is long known for being a family friendly console, but that doesn't mean it has the best games for geeks who aren't dads. Nintendo is releasing 30 classics and 30 new games with their new Wii, so pick up a few of them as well.
Playstation III
The latest and greatest Playstation is hitting this holiday season, and you can bet that we geeks will be in line for it. The games are bound to be bigger, better, and gorier than ever before with hot new titles as well as the ability to play our old favorites. Another plus, Playstations can be a CD/DVD player as well!
Games
Be they for PC or console systems, games are the fastest way to a geek's heart. Find out what kind of games your geek is looking for for their PC, Xbox, Playstation, or Nintendo system and make us happy for a week to 6 months. You know, however long it takes us to beat them all...
Geek shirts!
Jinx has a wide selection of shirts and other gear for geeks. Let your geek know you care with a shirt he'll/she'll actually wear!
Geek toys!
Kleargear has some fabulous gifts for the geek in all of us. From USB enabled anything to interesting gadgets, Kleargear has some of the most interesting things out there for geeks. Check these out for great ideas:
If you're looking for what geeks like best, you have to go with toys. Try some of these:
They have several ways to arm yourself in the "Weapons and Cube Warfare" arsenal like the marshmallow gun, rubber band guns, air guns, and the jumping banana sonic grenade. Oh yeah.
Check out distractions for several remote control toys that are sure to keep us happy and unproductive.
Geeky Gadgets:
PC Drawer
Fits in your PC and stores small things like paperclips (shown on the site) and CDs.
Alien Folding Keychain Knife
A pocket knife that looks like an alien head.
That's awesome.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention Thinkgeek. In fact, if I didn't mention them, I wouldn't be a geek, so without further ado, latest and greatest at Thinkgeek.
Caffeinated anything, including soap, makes us happy. Really, you have no idea. If there was a god of caffeine, we would worship them.
The Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard
It's a keyboard, but it's not! Make your geek happy by freeing up desk space for their not-so-keyboard.
Not into that one? Try their glow-in-the-dark keyboards. Geeks do it in the dark. True story.
The Thinkgeek USB snowbot is perfect for this holiday season. He has an LED eye scanner and eerie sound effects. What could be better than a toy that plugs into our computer AND looks festive?
Only caffeine.
Geeky DVDs?
Yes, Virginia. There are geek movies and TV shows. Pick your geek up a boxed set of Star Trek or Star Wars (if you don't know if your geek prefers Picard or Kirk, you don't love your geek), Office Space, the Matrix Trilogy, Army of Darkness, and more. Check first, chances are they probably have it unless it's a newly released version.
Geek books
From the Superman Handbook to The Zombie Survival guide, there's a little bit of everything out for your geek's bookcase this holiday season.
Geek games for 'real life' (please step away from the computer)
Far beyond Axis and Allies, many geeks are now into the new Warhammer. Get them the Rulebook or some figurines and paints. Heck, pick them up some dice as well. If you don't know where to pick this stuff up, check local hobby shops. You can ask your geek where they are.
A case of Bawls or their favorite soft drink, wrapped in bubble wrap.
You don't even know how much we love bubble wrap. Make sure the soft drink contains caffeine.
And a #11 for free:
Some of us geeks are into model airplanes or remote control airplanes or vehicles. If you have a geek like this, you can pick them up a kit, parts, or paints for their hobby.
I hope that gives you a good idea of some of the things that geeks like. I've tried to translate it into human so that those of us without special geeky abilities can still shop for our geeky friends.
Yes, I'm a girl. Yes, I'm a geek. I'm hoping for a PS III this Christmas, how about you?
