Top Ten Gift Ideas for a Loving Mom

Whether your mom loves to be at home, works a lot, or finds herself somewhere in between, she most definitely likes a clean house and something nice to wear, no? This article suggests a few things you could get your mom this Christmas that would make her feel loved. Take a moment to see my simple suggestions below.

House plants
Does your mom use plants to add color in her house? House plants (or artificial plants) can make the difference between a room that looks blah and one that looks homey. Artificial plants are okay since they can't die, but living plants are nice to have as well. House plants help clear toxins from the air, too, so they're useful in more than one way. Think of your mom's living room. Would a few smaller plants or one larger one look good in that room? Visit your local nursery to find a few good house plants that your mom would like. Don't worry about what color her thumb is. I am living proof that a brown thumb can eventually turn green with a lot of dedication and patience. If you mom works a lot, a house plant would be a great thing for her desk at work. Don't forget to choose a decorative planter pot for the house plant you choose for her.

Some moms hate to cook, while others thrive while doing so. Rachael Ray has produced quite a few cookbooks since becoming so famous years ago, and even Wal-mart carries some of them. Choose the right Rachael Ray cookbook for your mom and she will be glad to only take 30 minutes in the kitchen - no matter who she is!

Exercise Videos/DVDs
All Moms need exercise, and many of us don't get enough because of whatever excuse. I suggest for you to give your mom one or a few exercise videos/DVDs as a holiday gift. Whether it's raining outside or she doesn't feel like driving to the gym, your mom will still be able to exercise in her home with a exercise video/DVD. Let her choose a jacket and pants that actually match and maybe even have a bit of class to them. Your mom probably keeps up with hair cuts and styling, but does she ever treat herself to a manicure or eyebrow waxing? Perhaps your mom would like some new dish towels and wash cloths for her kitchen. I've really liked the green microfiber-type towels that I had gotten several years back. They add more color to my kitchen since I hang one on the oven door and another on the refrigerator door. The towels you select don't have to be microfiber to be nice, but microfiber is great for soaking up spills, and I've gotten some compliments on them several times.

Manicure Set
If your mom doesn't have a good manicure set, she needs one! Having a manicure set allows one to locate all the utensils needed to make finger and toenails look and feel great. A good manicure set should include fingernail & toenail clippers, nail scissors, a nail file, a nail buffer, tweezers, and anything else you can think of that she might need in her set. Beauty supply stores like ULTA should have some sort of manicure set selection, but you can also try discount or even department stores to find a good one.
