Unique and Fun Gifts Ideas for Your Favorite Techie

Nikki Daniels
It's hard shopping for people who are into technology trends. You know their going to look at the hot chocolate gift set and grimly smile with a dry, "thanks". That is when you feel like you've wasted money and what's the point of even shopping for friends and loved ones? The giving spirit of the Holiday season; that is the purpose. But who wants to give crappy old fashioned gifts? Here is a list of tech savvy gifts that are on the top of my wish list.

Home Intercom System
It is so 1980's to scream your lung out for the kids. After all, we don't need them to change the channel anymore. The handy remote works wonders, but there is still the matter of chips and soda that just won't appear on its own. Westinghouse/Novi Wireless has an intercom system that makes it easier to call for family members throughout the house. It's expandable up to 4 units making it convenient to put in the kid's rooms and major areas. The unit is also good for checking in on baby. Simply place the unit on lock and it will monitor the baby while sleeping! The Westinghouse/Novi system is on sale for $44.99.

Programmable Message Clock
Trendy and cute, this clock has the technology to display messages that seem to float in thin air. You can display messages up to 200 characters and save 4 custom messages to be displayed on different dates. The XP3 ULTRA Programmable Message Clock comes in red or blue text and can be found for around $48.00

Digital Photo Frame plus MP3 player
This is a great gift for the techie in your life. For $119 the photo frame can display one photo or a slide show of photos. With the MP3 player, you are able to play your favorite song with the photos. It's so easy to use; take the memory card from your camera and insert it into frame. This brilliant 7 inch screen can also display video files. This digital frame is perfect for the living room or office. You simply can't go wrong with this one.

Flame Free candles
Yes, fire started in the stone ages. Your techie best friend doesn't have time to find a match, light a candle and remember to blow it out. These battery operated candles with its imitated flickering element resemble wax candles with perfection. They come in square, round, odd trendy shapes and display the melted look. Battery operated candles can be conveniently placed on book shelves or odd place that flame candles cannot be placed. Perfect for baby or kid's room; these candles are the best.

Deal or No Deal DVD Game
This hit game show is full throttle in your techie's family room. Board games are still hanging on but DVD games are fast and furious; just perfect for electronic lovers. Howey Mandel comes straight to your television as if you are really there. This DVD game is great for all ages and everyone will be yelling at the screen. "No Deal!" There are no stress filled delays in new offers from long commercials. It's all there in your face and its great fun to play. This game can be found online starting at $24.99.

Music Pillows
The miPillow allows listening to television, an MP3 player or CD player while lying comfortably in your bed. The wireless speaker goes inside of the pillow pocket and it is easy to navigate the power and volume controls. This is perfect for listening to soothing music and letting it softly lull your techie to sleep without keeping his partner awake.

Under cabinet CD Player
Slim and sleek an under cabinet CD player is the perfect addition to your techie's kitchen, bath, or laundry room. This space saving gadget has a digital clock with alarm and is priced just right at $39.99

Portable Media Players
Two media players that are likely to entice your techie this Holiday are Zune and RoverTv. The Zune player is Microsoft's answer to the iPod. Sporting a 30 GB hard drive, FM tuner, file sharing from Zune to Zune, and a marketplace for unlimited downloads, Zune is your on the go source for MP3's and video. Want to watch television as well? Watch out Tivo! The RoverTv is a handy little device that allows you to record television, music, and movies to watch and listen to later. On one 2GB card SD card, you can store up to 4 hours of movies, television and video or up to 2800 songs to play at your leisure. This portable fun box starts at $299.00.

The Ultra Mobile PC
"Go everywhere. Do everything". That is Microsoft's slogan for this fantastic portable PC. Download music and movies effortlessly or handle on the go business using Microsoft Office. This sleek handheld has full Microsoft XP functions and allows internet connections through WiFi or a Bluetooth-enabled wireless phone. Check and send email, surf the internet or listen to music with Windows Media Player. Your techie will fall in love. Check them out while supplies last. This hot ticket will surely sell fast.

Accessories to other products
This strategy is an undiscovered masterpiece. Purchasing expensive tech loving products are just the barebones in the process. The accessories to these products are not included but are worth the purchase. You are certain that your best friend is receiving a Zune for Christmas, why not purchase a travel kit for her daily commute that includes a travel case, ac adapter, ear plugs and more. Know someone getting a Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3? Go ahead and buy a game or extra controllers. You will be pleasantly surprised at how happy your techie will be to unwrap latest and fastest computer router that allows them to play online at top speed!

Unlike traditional socks, shirts and underwear for the Holidays, trendy techie gifts sell like hot cakes so get out, surf and make your purchases before you're stuck giving the hot coca set. Good luck!

This is exactly what I needed. I have been trying to figure out what to get my father-in-law. I mean what do you give to a retired man who has everything. I am going to get him a programmable message clock and let the grandchildren record the messages. This was the perfect solution to my problem. And who knew 'Deal or No Deal' had a video game!!!
