10. If you want your volleyball player to have the necessary gear, I would recommend a duffel bag or backpack. Just make sure that the bag or backpack is large enough to hold kneepads, wrist pads, volleyball and possibly some water or snacks to recharge during the breaks.
9. Being a volleyball player myself, when I am on the court, I make sure that I always have my kneepads. These pads offer support while you are on the court, especially if you like to dig the ball or perform rolls on the gym floor like I do. I have been known to do a lot of "sweeping" on the court. The kneepads come in different sizes and colors so you will need to make sure to choose the right one.
8. If your volleyball player is new to the sport, a volleyball book may be helpful. The books would be able to point out the rules of the game, strategies to be used on court along with drills to be come a better player.
7. When playing volleyball, it is a good idea to get a pair of shoes to use on the court. If your volleyball player likes sand play on the beach, then maybe a good pair of sandals is in order. There are some sporting good stores that will carry volleyball shoes. I personally have a pair of those types of shoes. If anything, the shoes must be comfortable enough for you to move in while bumping, setting or spiking.
6. I always enjoy receiving T-shirts displaying volleyball slogans and logos. When I travel I would always try to find T-shirts with volleyball lingo. One year when I visited Ocean City, Maryland with some friends I was treated to a special volleyball shirt, which was customized with my name. I enjoyed that gift very much. When I play volleyball, I usually wear one of my special shirts.
5. If you are able to find volleyball stickers, those are great to dress up envelopes, scrapbooks and other places.
4. As the Christmas season nears, volleyball ornaments are a great gift to put on the tree. Volleyball ornaments are not always easy to find. However, I have been successful locating ornaments in retail department stores, various Christmas shop boutiques, and in arts and craft shows. I own a few ornaments ranging from volleyballs to a player hitting or serving a ball.
3, If your player does not currently have a volleyball set, this would be a great gift. The set would include all items needed to set up an outside volleyball court. This would be perfect for a volleyball player who may have a fairly large backyard. These sets normally come with the poles, net and may even include the volleyball.
2. Recently I have found volleyball player figurines, which are a unique gift. These gifts are collectible and personal. I currently own three of these of figurines. My first collectible was a Precious Moments volleyball figurine called "Serving Up Fun". The figurine showed a little girl serving the volleyball. The other two in my collection are Boyd Bears collectibles. The first has the caption "When it comes to winning, you need the skill and the will." The second figurine is Heather, guardian angel of volleyball. These pieces are the prize of all of my collections.
1. My number one gift choice for an avid volleyball player is a volleyball. These balls are found in most sporting good stores. Depending on where your volleyball player likes to play may determine the type of ball you will purchase. A ball that may be played on the beach or on a sand court could be different from one used on a gym floor. I have even seen volleyballs that glow in the dark. I actually purchased a Mikasa standard volleyball for my own personal use. Volleyballs range in price from $14.99 to $60.00. Just keep in mind that with this purchase, you may need to purchase an air pump and needles to inflate the ball after constant use.
Any one of these gift suggestions should please your volleyball player. Enjoy the holiday season!
