Top Ten Google Services for 2006

Jesus Saves

If there was one company that dominated the year 2006 with its innovative technology and a new take on how things are done online, it would have to be Google. While many grumbled at the changes made by Google to the Adwords and the Adsense program, there were some great developments going on with Google as well. Here are the Top Ten Google Services for 2006:

Google Calendar beta - Allowing you to keep in touch with whats happening with the rest of the Google community, the Calendar is a pretty good addition to the already Goliath collection of Google's services. You can easily see what's going on with the information that the other users have made public.

Gmail beta - Amazing capabilities to organize your messages, the Gmail beta is easily one of the best email services today. Though it was out way before 2006, it really climbed the charts and became super-popular in 2006 thanks for the integration with the rest of the Google products like Maps and Calendar.

Google Talk Beta - Another great free service that connects the people online even better than before, Google talk is a great service with cool emoticons and with a headset, you can talk to them too!

Writely - okay, so you need a word processor, and you need it fast. Enter Google Writely, a free online word processor. The only important thing is to stay online while you work!

Google Maps - Maps were beginning to seem pretty boring...until Google Maps with its 3D satellite views showed up! Since then, it's easier than ever to spot anything from outer space!

Google Sketchup - Start building your future dream house in 3D without knowing a single thing about architecture what so ever. And then, take it a step further. Eventually you might have a whole city that you can drop into Google Earth!

Google Earth beat 4 - It's not completely there yet, but it's good enough that you can fly around the world analyzing the different nooks and crannies of what the earth has to offer! Maybe someday you could visit everywhere in the world from your computer!

Spreadsheet - This is no Excel killer, but it is faster, cheaper (free), and fun! You can save quite a bit of time if you all you need to do is plug in some figures and make some calculations.

Desktop 4 Beta - Other than just installing great search tools to help you find files on your computer, Desktop also adds the fun of Gadgets on your desktop. My only concern is with giving the access of so much of my information to a single company, especially a company that big! So turn off the advanced features or skip the Desktop search if you're uncomfortable too...though gadgets is amazing!

Picasa Web Albums Beta - Edit, share and upload your images on the web easily and quickly. This is just a bare-bones test version of what Google eventually will offer, but it is still one of the best free services available today!

Let's see what Google will come up with over 2007!
