If you are considering living the RV life, you're in for an adventure. But there's a few places you should check out to prepare your mobile home trip: here's 10.

One: Find a free (or nearly free) campground

With the cost of gas so volatile and since it always seems to be higher in the summer months, money saved at the campground can go a long way. There are multiple sites which can point one to a free campground, or site for your mobile home such as this one.

Two: Find free maps and travel guides

Travel agencies and insurance companies can charge a ridiculous amount for maps and guides. The internet can provide them for free. Here's a web site to start.

Three: Head to a senior friendly RV park

There are too many to list! This site lists senior friendly campgrounds and RV parks based on the recommendations of other seniors.

Four: Plan for gas

Fuel is going to be one of the largest expenses. For this reason, it is a good idea to plan for it. Sites like this one offer a calculator to accurately predict the cost of fuel.

Five: Don't lose the internet

Many RV parks and other convenient stops offer free wireless internet. Since most laptops now have built in wi-fi capabilities, planning for wireless "hot spots" can be done as sites like this.

Six: Emergencies happen, be prepared

One of the many sites out there that seem to sell everything are a great way to load up on emergency supplies such as flashlights, batteries, and a first aid kit without leaving the house.

Seven: E-ZPass the tolls

If the planned route includes pay toll roads, signing up for an E-ZPass can save the time and hassle of making sure there is always exact change in the RV.

Eight: Choose the right RV

Obviously, the RV is the most important tool for RV living. Sites specializing in detailing the differences will provide confidence that you're driving the right RV.

Nine: Monitor the weather

Nothing can ruin a trip like bad weather, and many times when traveling long distances in an RV it can be avoided. Be sure to check a weather site.

Ten: Spoil yourself once in a while

Nothing tastes as good as BBQ or homemade meals, but sitting down in a restaurant once in a while can keep things fresh. Reading reviews on a site like this one will help you choose the right restaurant in an unfamiliar town.
