Top Ten Jake Gylenhaal Movies

Movies with Jake Gylenhaal, My Favorite Actor

Christi Bowers
Jake Gylenhaal happens to be my favorite actor. Why? Well, it's not just his charming tall, dark and handsome good looks. There's more to it than that. He just is really deep in any of his movies. Jake Gylenhaal just provides this extra intensity, darkness, something mysterious to any movie he plays in. Jake Gylenhaal was born December 19, 1980 in Los Angeles, California. He has an older sister Maggie Gylenhaal, who starred roles such as Secretary.

Here are my choices for Jake Gylenhaal's top ten movies:

1. Zodiac, 2007. This is my favorite Jake Gylenhaal movie of all times. It certainly doesn't hurt that Robert Lee Downey, Jr. is also in this movie. He is also in my favorites for actors.

2. Brokeback Mountain, 2005. Okay, for anyone who cannot appreciate homosexuality, this movie may not be for you. However, if you want a great chance to see one of Heath Ledger's last movies, here it is. I personally think it takes alot of courage as an actor to take on a role such as this one.

3. Donnie Darko, 2001. I like weird movies, with weird things going on. It's hard to follow this movie at times, and you might have to watch it more than once, but Jake Gylenhaal gives a superb performance in this role.

4. Jarhead, 2005. The reason I like this movie is because I think it is something totally different for Jake Gylenhaal. He usually portrays someone weirder, darker, but in this movie he is a straight up soldier. It's a movie not to miss.

5. Rendition, 2007. This is another movie with incredible actors. Enjoy Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon if you watch this one.

6. The Good Girl, 2002. Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gylenhaal team up in this one for a steamy romance.

7. October Sky, 1999. This is a unique movie with Jake Gylenhaal.

8. Proof, 2005.

9. The Day After Tomorrow, 2004. I always enjoy a movie about the end of the world, or at least close to it.

10. Bubble Boy, 2001. This was certainly one of Jake's odder movies.

What are some of your favorites?

He was fantastic in Broke back moutain and I had to see this movie, just a little too much for me. I also loved Proof, you can't go wrong with Gweneth Paltrow. Great movies, Christie! Thanks.
