Top Ten Kids Movies of 2009
10. Race to Witch Mountain
This movie stars Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, and two children as the main characters. The Rock is a cab driver and finds two children in his cab. This adventure comedy movie is a little drug out at times and wasn't my favorite, but my daughter loved it.
9. Where the Wild Things Are
Being a teacher I was very familiar with the book, so I decided to watch the movie, too. The movie was similar to the book, just a lot longer. It was an OK movie, but the book is better.
8. G-Force
This is a story that involves guinea pigs and it somewhat entertaining. One thing I didn't like about this movie is that they made jokes that aren't necessarily the best for young children.
This was a very good movie. It was funny and entertaining.
6. Planet 51
What is Aliens were the norm and a human was the scary one? That is the concept of this movie. It was very cute and funny. I was entertained during most of the movie.
5. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
This was very similar to the other Ice Age movies. It was cute, but a little predictable.
4. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
This is a sequel to the first Night at the Museum. It has a very good story and the security guard Ben Stiller becomes a hero.
3. Hotel for Dogs
In this movie two foster children find and take care of stray dogs in an empty, old hotel. This is a very good movie and has a good ending to it.
2. Hannah Montana
I enjoy the music by Hannah Montana and I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I thought it would be an extension of the TV show, but it was much more than that. It had a good story line and I enjoyed this movie so much that I actually bought the DVD.
1. Up
Disney did it again. After the sad beginning of this movie, the rest of this movie is very good and funny. It shows a friendship between and old man, a young boy, and a dog. I really think this is the best kids movie of 2009.
