Top Ten Most Indulgent Desserts

Pearl Grace
Who doesn't love dessert? Although most people recognize it isn't usually the healthiest course to eat, having a great dessert once in awhile can actually serve as motivation to keep a consistent exercise regime. If you plan ahead and consider it a special treat, eating dessert is no great sin.

For example, even the most health-conscious person can imbibe in a decadent dessert once a month. Read on for a list of sumptuous cakes, pies, and miscellaneous concoctions that truly are the top ten most indulgent desserts.

Red Velvet Cake

-A classic and classy dessert, Red Velvet Cake is served by some of the finest restaurants the world over. A chocolate cake spiked with red food coloring and topped with luscious buttercream frosting, a slice of Red Velvet Cake never disappoints.

Mississippi Mud Cake

-An old southern U.S. recipe, the Mississippi Mud Cake reminds us why we love the South and chocolate. Fudgy, deep chocolate cake baked with pecans and coconut, iced with marshmallow filling, then topped with chocolate frosting. Prepare for a gooey delight!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake

-Another chocolate cake takes its place on the top ten most indulgent desserts list. This cake has a fluffy smooth, thick layer of Peanut Butter Mousse between the cake layers, all iced with velvety chocolate icing.

Milky Way Cake

-Although this cake may not be as popular as some of the other cakes on the list, the Milky Way Cake is unusually good. Made with, what else? Milky Way candy bars. Melted and stirred into the homemade cake batter, Milky Way bars make this dessert deliciously different. Milky Ways can also be melted and mixed into the frosting.
Pecan Pie with French Vanilla Ice Cream

-The subdued crunch of the pecans and the sweetness of the pie filling can only be offset by the rich creaminess of the Ice cream. Where's the coffee?

Coconut Cream Pie

-Luscious and seemingly light, the texture of the coconut goes well with the richness of the coconut cream pudding filling. Coconut Cream Pie must be one of Perkins' Restaurants' top selling pies. We don't need to ask why.

Brownie Sundae

-A yummy chocolate brownie with chocolate icing (and nuts, of course) is blanketed by vanilla or chocolate ice cream, and then topped with whipped cream. This dessert is a real winner that everybody loves.

Dairy Queen Blizzard

-A fast food dessert at its finest, a DQ blizzard is made with DQ's signature soft serve ice cream with candies and nuts of your choice blended in. Various syrups and even fruit can also be thrown in to the mix. When time is short to whip up dessert, make a DQ run for blizzards.

Coconut Chocolate Almond Cheesecake

-Where does one even start to describe this sinful dessert with the complex tastes? Cheesecake filling is dotted with almond slivers and coconut stirred in. A crushed chocolate wafer crust holds the filling. Melted chocolate is drizzled over all. Is this heaven or what?

Tiramisu

-Known everywhere as one of the most unique, scrumptious desserts, tiramisu just had to make the top ten list of decadent desserts. Whipping cream, mascarpone cheese, ladyfingers dipped in espresso, and a fine cocoa sprinkling on top combine to make the decadent dessert, tiramisu.

Although most of these decadent desserts require time and effort to make, nothing makes guests and your family happy like serving one of these top ten most indulgent desserts.

Since I am a unrepentant chocoholic and only the coconut creme pie doesn't have chocolate, This sounds like a good list to me. The Mississippi Mud cake might be first.

I prefer Red Vel. Cake with buttercream frosting, but most restaurants use cream cheese. Mississippi Mud Pie, another good one!
