Top Ten Most Romantic Movies

Valentines Day will be here soon. There really is no better way to celebrate a romantic occasion such as it or just have a romantic evening, by watching a romantic classic film. Many consider the following movies the top ten most romantic movies.

#10 Romeo and Juliet (1996)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes star in this adaptation of one of William Shakespeare's greatest works. This takes place in Verona Beach, a sexy, violent other world. Not really the future and not really the past. It is ruled by two rival families. So, sit back and watch the romance unfold.

#9 An Officer and A Gentleman (1982)

Just about everyone remembers the scene where Zack (Richard Gere) walks into the factory in his dress whites where Paula (Debra Winger) is working and sweeps her up in his arms and carries her away. The true white knight to the rescue scene.

#8 Gone with the Wind (1939)

Scarlet O'Hara (Vivian Leigh) fights off her attraction for a rascal like Rhett Butler (Clarke Gable) during the Civil War era in this epic romance. So put this movie on and pull your sweetheart near and, "You'll never be lonely again."

#7 Love Story (1979)

This is one of the most popular tearjerkers ever. It tells the story of Jenny (Ali McGraw), a poor college student from Rhode Island. Who falls for Oliver (Ryan O'Neil), a rich law student from Boston while they are away at college. They have to endure opposition of Oliver's wealthy parents to let love prevail.

#6 Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

This is another timeless romance. A little boy on Christmas Eve calls into a radio talk show hosted by a psychologist to find his dad a new wife. Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) hears them on the radio and is convinced it her destiny to be with the boys father Sam (Tom Hanks).

#5 A Walk To Remember (2002)

This is a story of a high school rebel, Landon Carter (Shane West). Whose life is changed by the town's Baptist Minister's daughter, Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore). He finds himself in love with the girl he did not expect.

#4 Pretty Woman (1990)

Who can forget Julia Roberts playing a young L.A. prostitute who encounters a rich gentleman (Richard Gere), who changes her life. Is it just I or does this sound like "A Officer and A Gentleman?"

#3 Ghost (1990)

A young executive (Patrick Swayze) is murdered and leaves behind his beloved wife (Demi Moore). Death though cannot keep true love apart as they communicate through a fake psychic (Whoopi Goldberg).

#2 Titanic (1997)

American Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) spots the society girl Rose DeWitt Bukater, who is on her way to Philadelphia to marry a snobby rich guy. She goes to the deck and thinks about jumping overboard due to her situation. Along comes her hero Jack to save the day, well at least for a little while.

#1 The Notebook (2004)

An epic love story centered around an older man (James Garner) who reads aloud to an older, invalid woman (Gena Rowlands) whom he regularly visits. From a faded notebook his words brings to life the story of a couple that is separated by World War II, and reunited seven years later. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams play the young couple.

    A walk to remember is such an amazing movie, its so cute and yet so sad at the same time. the book is also just as wonderful.

    I love A Walk To Remember. I didn't see it until the last few years, and I was hooked.
