Top Ten Musicians from American Idol

There are many talented musicians in music today from American Idol. This television show has turned many musicians into budding rock stars, country singers and pop singers. This article will list my top ten choices of American Idol contestants turned great musicians.

1. Carrie Underwood. Almost every song by Carrie Underwood seems memorable. She has songs that make you think, ones that make you cry, even songs that tell a story. Although most of her music is country, she does remakes of rock tunes! For instance, she redid the Motley Crue song 'Home Sweet Home.' Some of her best songs include 'Just a Dream,' 'Last Name' and 'Before he Cheats.'

Carrie Underwood won Season 5 of American Idol, and then started rolling out the hits. She has an incredible voice and an All-American Girl look. Although she seemed shy at first, she has really broken out of her shell.

2. Kelly Clarkson. Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol. She has had many hits since then! Her music is very pop style. Some of her songs include 'Since You Been Gone,' 'Because of You,' and 'Walk Away.'

3. Adam Lambert. Adam Lambert won American Idol Season 8. He was immediately seen as a unique performer, with his alternative looks and sense of confidence.

4. Chris Daughtry. Chris Daughtry did not win American Idol season five, but he went on to have huge success with his band Daughtry. They have many top forty hits. One of the things I particularly like about Chris is his commitment to family, that hasn't changed since his claim to fame.

5. Bo Bice. I think I put Bo Bice on here because he just seems genuine. He hasn't really let fame go to his head. I also enjoyed his performance where he sang a capella and truly showed off his voice. To me, this is a real rock star. Bo Bice was around in Season 5.

6. Kelly Pickler. Although Kelly Pickler did not win American Idol, and she was never a fan favorite, she has gone on to produce some hits. You have to give her credit for that, because some of the American Idol contestants have sunk back into the background and we don't hear much about them.

7. Fantasia Burrino. Fantasia has a very unique voice. It seems small, yet big at the same time. She graced the stage in Season Three of American Idol.

8. Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Hudson was a finalist during Season Three of American Idol. She has introduced herself into the movie world as an actress in 'Dreamgirls' and has gone on to produce an album.

9. Jordin Sparks. The winner of American Idol Season 6, Jordin Sparks has gone onto fame with her album 'Battlefield,' with its top single also titled 'Battlefield.' The album has sold over two million copies.

10. David Cook. Now here is a guy I can relate to. He just seems like he's all over the place with talent. He also has some intelligence. He produced an album before his American Idol career, and then another one after. David Cook was the winner of American Idol Season 7.
