1. Something's Gotta Give (2003). I definitely wouldn't mind being Diane Keaton in this movie, where she has younger Keanu Reeves falling in love with her, a successful doctor. I can't say I would have agreed with her to choose Jack Nicholson over Keanu Reeves when he finally realizes after months that he is really in love with her. What makes this movie so romantic is that love wins in the end. Jack Nicholson, the player of players, tries to continue on his life, without love. However, he sees that he just can't stop himself from having feelings for this woman. This is a truly romantic movie. Something's Gotta Give is one of my favorite romance movies of all time.
2. Jerry Maguire (1996). Okay, Tom Cruise, I'll give you credit. You got the hearts of just about every young woman in America when you came back from that trip and came home to Renee Zellweger. We had all written the movie off from being a romantic movie until that point. You really just were taking advantage of the situation until then. But, you had her at hello when you returned. This movie is a great passionate romance movie because Tom Cruise realizes that his heart belongs with Renee Zellweger.
3. As Good As It Gets (1997). Jack Nicholson gets another top ten passionate romance movie with As Good As It Gets. In this top ten romantic movie, Jack Nicholson falls for Helen Hunt, a waitress in the restaurant where he eats lunch every day. What makes this an especially romantic movie is that he is motivated to help himself become a better person, and take his medication for obsessive compulsive disorder, so he can be with her. Now that's passion!
4. Australia (2008). Hugh Jackman, you're not above love either. You were the Drover, and you said you would never settle down. But a cute Australian kid and Nicole Kidman all put together, and you turn to mush. You try to run from it, but in the end love catches you. Romance is alive and well in this passionate movie!
5. Far and Away (1992). Nicole Kidman takes another's heart, Tom Cruise, in this love movie. Here, Nicole and Tom set out for America, so they can make their dreams come true. Tom pretends to hate her for a long time, but soon he realizes that he loves her just as much as his American dream.
6. The Last of the Mohicans (1992). In The Last of the Mohicans, Daniel Day Lewis meets Madeline Stowe, and the fires ignite from there. In the middle of a war, Daniel Day Lewis must help Madeline and her sister get to safety. Along the way, Madeline and Daniel realize passion is alive and well in the wilderness. There is a subplot where the sister falls for one of the last mohicans, and ends up committing suicide when he is killed. It's as if a Romeo and Juliet subplot was intertwined into this movie, to make it an even more romantic movie. The most passionate part of the movie is when Daniel and Madeline are about to get separated, and he says that no matter what, he will find her! Wow!
7. Kate and Leopold (2001). Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman meet, but only because Hugh Jackman has gone into the future and Meg Ryan has entered the past. This is a romance movie about two going through time and finding each other, and knowing that they have to be together.
8. When Harry Met Sally (1989). It's not that this is the most romantic movie ever in certain terms. It's just that Harry and Sally, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, are just meant for each other. It takes decades for them to end up together, but love prevails in the end.
9. Pretty Woman (1990). Richard Gere, what are you doing to us? Apparently, breaking girl's hearts everywhere. In this movie, Julia Roberts is a hooker. She picks up Richard Gere on Hollywood Boulevard. In this movie, Julia Roberts decides she's going to better herself, and it just so happens that Richard Gere decides to come along for the ride. Love score one! Richard Gere had planned to just leave her there, and move on, but he found that he had to come back for her!
10. The Notebook (2004). This to me is the most romantic passionate movie of all time. Think about a guy still doing everything he can to keep his love alive once his wife gets Alzheimer's and barely remembers him.
What are your favorite passionate romance movies?

What is wrong with you? Only one or two of these are passionate romance movies... its more like you made an opposite list. Harry met Sally? Cute, not passionate. and really? Something's gotta give? Number one? What are you on? I would not be as mortally offended if you hadn't used the word passionate. Most of the movies on this list do not scream passion, with the exception of the notebook, which should really be at number 1!!
Love Diane Keaton!!! Good choices Christi.
