Many people plan romantic getaways for anniversaries, birthdays, or Valentine's Day. Taking off and being alone with your significant other can be a romantic gesture. Getaways can be as extravagant as a cruise or as simple as a secluded quiet area you both can be alone and share time. The following are suggestions for romantic getaways.

#10 A Cabin on the Lake

You can make this even more romantic by making it a romantic spa getaway. You can bring candles, spa treatments, fluffy towels, and robes, combined with soothing music and a bottle of wine and it is a prescription for romance.

If it is in the budget, not much can beat you and your loved one on the high sea. Romantic cruises have been a long time choice for romance. You can check to see if there are special packages, which may be discounted. Shop around you might be surprised at the prices.

#8 A Romantic Hotel Getaway

Many times our schedules are very hectic and too busy for elaborate plans. This does not mean you cannot have a romantic adventure. You can find a local hotel in your area that may have a romantic package. If this is your choice, your romantic hideaway may only be a couple of miles down the road.

The charm of bed and breakfasts is undeniable. You can locate a bed ad breakfast in an area you like. One choice is a vineyard. You could travel the local vineyards and go to wine tasting. Most bed and breakfasts usually have a theme to them, most all are built for romance.

Sometimes the best getaway is right under your nose. Do not answer the phone or door; call up the grandparents to take the kids for a getaway for their own. Then indulge in whatever romantic whims you both have.

This can be perfect for a winter escape. You can plan it around a skiing adventure. You can have fun on the slopes in the day and snuggle around the fire at night.

This one can cover many destinations. This can be as varied as a tent in the backyard or renting a small house in a beach town. You need to just make sure wherever it is no TV or Internet is available to distract you from each other.

This for many ahs always has been the best getaway. Strolling along the beach in the moonlight, a blanket on the beach, a bottle of wine, and a small fire. If you find a house with a large enough deck, you can have a candlelit dinner for two overlooking the waves.
