- The Great Wall of China. I was fortunate enough to be working in China and it would have been inconceivable to have missed visiting this majestic attraction. (I still have a picture from the great wall as the screensaver on my computer).
- The Grand Canyon. A truly awesome sight, I just can't wait to return to this location again.
- Stonehenge, England. This historical icon is well worth the overpriced entrance fee, unfortunately you are no longer able to approach the stones themselves only to walk around the perimeter. It is very thought provoking just how these stones were moved about 4000 years ago over 100 miles to this location, and then how the top stones were placed into position, all lining up with the sun accurately during the solstice. Magnificent historical site.
- Las Vegas. A young spectacle in this list of historical places, but I love it here. It is also the location where I was married so a personal favorite of mine.
- Smokey Mountains, TN. I love the big open spaces, the color in the fall and the winter in this wilderness.
- Loch Ness, Scotland. The myth over whether or not a Loch Ness monster exists, but the spectacular scenery of this part of Scotland inspires me. I love this part of the world.
- Belize, Central America. The ancient Mayan ruins that are left to be discovered in this small country are not overrun with tourists.
- Off the coast of Belize. The coral reef running alongside the coastline (about 10 miles offshore). This is truly a magical place to snorkel amongst the crystal clear waters or just to catch up on your tan on the many small islands along this reef (Second only in size to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia).
- The Ice City, Harbin, China. An annual display of truly magnificent ice carvings in this freezing city in the north east of China. Very overpriced, most of the local population are unable to afford the cost of seeing this spectacular work, Wrap up well for it is worth a quick visit in the minus 30 degree temperature.
- The French Alps, France. I love to ski, so in my opinion no better place than the many resorts open in this region of the world. (I also love the summers in this area, cycling up the tortuous climbs made famous in the Tour de France cycle race).

Post a CommentSome of these are among my favourites too. But I would say some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen were in Austria, Croatia and Cyprus.
