Top Ten Quarterbacks- Week Twelve

For the fifth consecutive week, Kurt Warner surpassed the 300-yard mark in passing yards. However, Warner made some uncharacteristic mistakes in the Cardinals 37 to 29 loss to the New York Giants. He threw one interception and coughed up one fumble. Both turnovers resulted in touchdowns for the Giants. He connected with Anquan Boldin for his only touchdown pass of the afternoon. Additionally, he completed 32 passes in 52 attempts for a total of 351 yards. Even though it was not his finest outing, Warner is still the most efficient quarterback in the NFL.

On the season, Warner has thrown 21 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. He has completed 302 passes in 433 attempts for 3,506 yards and a completion percentage of 69.7.

"They're a good defense and we matched up with them very well and went toe to toe with them for 60 minutes... If we eliminate some of the mistakes we can play with anybody in the league," said Warner.

2. (3) Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints (6-5): 99.9 Quarterback Rating

Drew Brees made a statement on Monday night, as he threw four touchdown passes. He only threw six incompletions for the entire game. He completed 20 passes in 26 attempts for 323 yards. Brees continues to rack up yardage and is on pace to break Dan Marino's single season mark of 5,084 yards passing. However, Brees is not comfortable with the accolades unless he can lead the Saints into the post-season. Oh, by the way, the Saints thwarted the Green Bay Packers by a score of 51 to 29.

On the season, Brees has thrown 22 touchdown passes and eleven interceptions. He has completed 286 passes in 424 attempts for an NFL-high 3,574 yards and a completion percentage of 67.5.

"You look at this game, so many (good) things (happened). Deuce (McAllister) getting the (franchise touchdown) record, us just really feeling like we had our stride going the whole game," said Brees.

3. (2) Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers (4-7): 103.3 Quarterback Rating

The San Diego Chargers left their home field disappointed again, as they watched Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri kick a game-winning field goal. The lowly Chargers fell to 4-7, and are fighting for their playoff lives. Despite the substandard win-loss record, Philip Rivers is enjoying a solid season, though he would rather have more W's in the win column. On Sunday, Rivers threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions. He completed 24 passes in 31 attempts for 288 yards.

On the season, Rivers has thrown an NFL-high 23 touchdown versus ten interceptions. He has completed 215 passes in 327 attempts for 2,806 yards and a completion percentage of 65.7.

"There isn't another 4-7 team in the league that still has a chance (to make the playoffs)," said a frustrated Rivers.

4. (5) Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys (7-4): 101.8 Quarterback Rating

Tony Romo amassed a season-high 341 yards in the Cowboys 35 to 22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Romo's preferred target was Terrell Owens, as the flamboyant wide receiver hauled in seven catches for 213 yards and a touchdown score. Romo completed 23 passes in 39 attempts and threw touchdown passes. Romo wore a splint on his injured finger.

On the season, Romo has thrown 18 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. He has completed 170 passes in 266 attempts for 2,228 yards and a completion percentage of 63.9.

"I don't know if I could aggressively make the throws I made today without the splint on it," said Romo.

5. (7) Brett Favre, New York Jets (8-3): 94.1 Quarterback Rating

The impact that Brett Favre has had on this young team is amazing. Though it is not Favre's best season statistically, his influence on the Jets turnaround has him in MVP discussions. On Sunday against the former unbeaten Tennessee Titans, Favre completed 25 passes in 32 attempts for a total of 224 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and one interception. Favre opened each half of the game with 13-play scoring drives for the Jets, as they toppled the Titans 34 to 13.

On the season, Favre has thrown 20 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions. He has completed 245 passes in 347 attempts for 2,461 yards and a completion percentage of 70.6.

"I'm not going to sit here and say we've established ourselves as the best team in football. All it says is I think we beat the best team in football today," said Favre.

6. (8) Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts (7-4): 87.2 Quarterback Rating

Peyton Manning is finally looking comfortable in the pocket again.

Manning has thrown 19 touchdown passes and ten interceptions. He has completed 266 passes in 424 attempts for 2,823 yards and a completion percentage of 62.7.

7. (NR) Eli Manning, New York Giants (10-1): 91.6 Quarterback Rating

Though he is still not there yet, Eli Manning is beginning to rise among the elite quarterback in the NFL.

Manning has thrown 18 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. He has completed 209 passes in 337 attempts for 2,319 yards and a completion percentage of 62.0.

8. (9) Chad Pennington, Miami Dolphins (6-5): 93.7 Quarterback Rating

Pennington threw three touchdown passes against the New England Patriots, and the Dolphins still lost.

Pennington has thrown eleven touchdown passes and six interceptions. He has completed 225 passes in 341 attempts for 2,715 yards and a completion percentage of 66.0.

9. (4) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers (5-6): 90.5 Quarterback Rating

Rodgers struggled on the Monday stage against the New Orleans Saints.

He has thrown 17 touchdown passes and nine interceptions. He has completed 228 passes in 359 attempts for 2,599 yards and a completion percentage of 63.5.

10. (NR) Matt Cassel, New England Patriots (7-4): 90.5 Quarterback Rating

Tom Brady's replacement has accumulated over 800 yards in two games.

Cassel has thrown 13 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. He has completed 238 passes in 359 attempts for 2,615 yards and a completion percentage of 66.3.
