Top Ten Rascal Flatts Songs

Amy
Do the names Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney ring a bell? I bet they do. Together they make the country group very famously known as Rascal Flatts. With more than 50 songs in such a short amount of time, it is hard to choose a top ten for Rascal Flatts. However, I have searched through all the Rascal Flatts songs I could find, read the lyrics, thought about meanings, etc and now have came up with a top ten of my own.

10. Mayberry (album: Melt)
Rascal Flatts may have been singing about one town in particular, "Mayberry," but now days I believe everyone wishes they could go back or even just find a town that is safe, friendly, without worry, and full of dreams. As the days go by, I even sit back and wish that my hometown would be more like it used to be.

9. Feels Like Today (album: Still Feels Good & Smallville II)
I am sure that everyone has felt a bit down at sometime in their life whether it is now or you have recently overcome some event. Again, Rascal Flatts hit home for me and probably everyone who has ever listened to the song "Feels Like Today." You could be a expectant mother (or even father), getting ready to be bride (or groom), or even a soon to be graduate and know as well as feel that the time is near for joy, excitement, and making memories to cherish forever.

8. Love You Out Loud (album: Melt)
Rascal Flatts got it right here. When you fall in love you want to scream and shout and love your mate out loud. It's a catchy song and video where you see Rascal Flatts on the rooftop shouting how much they love their someone. I almost wish my husband were this sweet but then again I would get too embarrassed.

7. These Days (album: Melt)
This song is catchy, but also has a good message (like all Rascal Flatts songs do). If you have lost someone who was dear to your heart through a breakup, you may later find yourself missing old times and wishing he or she would be back again. Or even if you are in a relationship that is strong, you may hear "These Days" and reminisce and realize that you've got it good. Who knows why Rascal Flatts sang this song. They could have experienced this, had someone close to them that experienced this, or it may just be a song written for Rascal Flatts to sing.

6. Skin (album: Feels Like Today)
As we near number one, I tend to favor the more sappy, sad songs that make an impression in my heart. Rascal Flatts sang this song about a girl who has some kind of cancer or disease in which she has to go through treatment. I hate hearing about young kids or other young adults having trouble even trying to survive and fight for their life. They have so much ahead of them that they should able to accomplish or experience. There is nothing wrong with whoever it may be, personality, appearance, right to being acceptable, respected, etc. which is what I feel Rascal Flatts was trying to portray in the music video with the young girl going to prom with no hair. Instead of her date making fun of her or commenting he too became hairless for prom willingly.

5. Secret Smile (album: Still Feels Good)
If you are in love, you will understand this song. I love my husband with all my heard and he's someone to keep fighting for in my life. I do not know what I would do without him and he does not know what he would do without me. Rascal Flatts sang this song with meaning and love.

4. Still Feels Good (album: Still Feels Good)
As I stated before I love my husband and even though we've been around and around together, everything "Still Feels Good." In this song Rascal Flatts mentioned that holding hands may get old, seeing each other in the same old clothes may get old, or even just doing daily activities. However, in the end if that's not there anymore, you'll miss it even if whatever it is, is only gone for a day. I feel as if Rascal Flatts was saying it really does "Still Feel Good" whether you realize it or not if you are truly in love.

3. Ellsworth (album: Me and My Gang)
This song by Rascal Flatts really hit home to me. My grandparents are now in their early 80's and I used to meet them to go with them for the summer at the Dairy Queen in Ellsworth, Kansas. My grandpa was in the military (WWII) and they actually got married sometime in the 1940's. The song by Rascal Flatts just has a lot of similarities. It may not be as good to others as it is to me, but I think everyone can at least identify to this song in some way; whether it be a grandmother, mother, sister, or whoever.

2. Bless the Broken Road (album: Feels Like Today & 2006 Grammy Nominees)
Life throws rocks in everyone's direction that may lead them off path for a bit to make you a stronger person along the way. I think in this song Rascal Flatts is trying to portray the fact that whatever you may go through really does have a reason for happening. In the song "Bless the Broken Road" those occurrences happen to bounce Rascal Flatts or whoever they may have been talking about back in the right direction.

1. What Hurts the Most (album: Me and My Gang)
I rated this song number one on my list of Rascal Flatts songs because it is the most heartfelt, sappy, sad song I believe of Rascal Flatts. No one should have to give up someone they truly love because their family says so. The girl in the Rascal Flatts music video will never know what could have been for the future of her and her love. Now instead she will never get the chance to tell since he got into that car wreck. I have no idea how anyone could go through losing someone that they love so dearly.

Overall, it was very hard for me to only choose these ten songs for my Rascal Flatts top ten. I feel that every Rascal Flatts song should be number one because they are full of meaning with big messages if you listen or watch the videos closely.
