1. The Proposal was one of my favorite films this year. It was hysterically funny and had a great ending. Sandra Bullock plays a successful, overbearing executive who forces her assistant, Ryan Reynolds, into marrying her so that she won't be deported. He takes her home to Alaska for his Grandmother's birthday. They spend the weekend pretending to be in love. They both get more than they bargained for as they announce their engagement and plan their wedding. This movie was great.
2. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is a movie about a womanizing photographer played by Matthew McConaughey. He photographs beautiful women and they throw themselves at him. Then when they fall in love with him he dumps them. When he attends his brother's wedding three ghosts come to visit him. Each ghost representing a girlfriend from the past, present and the future. Will he ever change or will he become a lonely old bachelor? Watch and find out.
3. He's Just Not That Into You is the story of a woman looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong men. She befriends a bartender who helps her decipher the signs in her relationships. He tries to advise what to do and not to do. A very funny story about dating and falling in love.
4. New in Town is a cute movie about a successful corporate consultant. Renee Zellwegger has to go from her comfortable life in Miami to a blustery uncomfortable Minnesota to be a consultant for a manufacturing plant. She gets a very cold reception , but eventually gets the townspeople to warm up to her. She has to decide whether to return to her old life in Miami or start a new life in Minnesota. This movie was very cute, funny and has a happy ending.
5. Last Chance Harvey is a sweet and sappy movie about a jingle writer who's given up on his dreams and settled for what life's given him. Harry, played by Dustin Hoffman, goes to London for his daughter's wedding. He realizes that his daughter's step dad is closer to her than he is. He feels replaces and dispensable. Will he be able to turn his life around again and revive all the things that were once important to him or will he settle again?
6. The Ugly Truth is a comical look about sex, love, dating and relationships. The star of a morning show who is unlucky with men is team up with a guy who thinks he knows everything about women and relationships. She how the two get along in this hilarious movie about men and women.
7. Management is a romantic comedy about a man and woman who meet by chance at a hotel owned by the man's family. Sue is a hard worker set on making a difference in the world and Mike has nothing worth working hard for. Mike decides Sue is worth working for, but she doesn't think she has room in her life for him. Will Mike's perseverance work? Watch and see the funny movie about love and about what really counts.
8. My life in Ruins is a funny movie about a tour guide who has become disillusioned with her life. She's frustrated by her job and her life. Then her driver is replaced by a substitute and things begin to change. She starts feeling like her old self again and thinks that maybe love is possible again. What and enjoy this great romantic comedy that takes place in Greece.
9. Away We Go is another great romantic comedy about a couple expecting their first child. The couple decides to travel around the country searching for the perfect place to raise their first child. Watch all the crazy things that happen to them on their journey for their perfect home. This comedy will have you laughing.
10. Julie and Julia is a delightful comedy about a woman who is frustrated with her job and uses cooking as on outlet to deal with it. She decides that she is going to make every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook in one year. She writes a blog on each recipe and how it came out. Her blog eventually catches on with the cooking world. This is a very entertaining movie full of laughs and surprises.
During the hectic times of the holiday season make some time to relax, watch a good movie and laugh. Enjoy.
