Top Ten Signs You Should Drop a Few Pounds

Lisa Mooney
Perhaps, it's been in the back of your mind, and, more likely, it is in a few other places as well. Namely, it is showing up in your belly, thighs and your behind. If you think you may have added a few pounds to your normally svelte frame over the holidays or after that buffet laden cruise, you may be right. Learn the top ten signs that you should lose a little (or more) weight.

The Number

The scale cries at your approach. When that faithful number registers seven or more pounds over your normal body weight, it is a sign you should consider a weight-loss plan. Better yet, the National Heart Blood and Lung Institute recommends you take a waist measurement. If the number is over 35 inches for females or 40 inches for males, it is too high.

Noticiable Flab

Your underarms flap when the wind picks up. If you have sagging or lumpy skin in the wrong places (as if there were any right places for this type of thing) you might consider working out, dropping some weight and firming up.

Squeezing

The turnstile at the amusement park molests you. When you begin having to squeeze through places that were not all tight previously, it is possible you are carrying a little too much poundage.

Big Meals

Friends never offer to buy you lunch anymore. It's time to hit the gym and eat well balanced, healthy meals when you have hit the local buffet bars a few times too often. Weight Loss for All recommends you reduce portions by serving yourself from a small plate to drop pounds.

Shape Change

Your feet never get a tan as they are always in the shade. One look in the mirror can tell you your once shapely figure has expanded a little too much.

Extra Fat

Floating in the pool has become much easier lately. If the float is the only activity you have been doing lately, it's time to join a water aerobics class.

Clothing Too Small

Even your underwear has shrunk in the wash. One of the most commons signs you need to lose weight is when your clothes no longer fit.

Junk Food

The trip down the grocery store's baked goods and chips aisles serves as your weekly exercise. Partaking in junk food binges on a regular basis can increase your waist line and leave you feeling weak and tired.

Tummy Bump

Small children ask you if they feel the "baby" kick. Fat often accumulates in your stomach area before progressing to other parts. Change your eating habits if your belly is larger than you would like.

Too Frequent Snacking

Dogs follow you around due to the nice meat smell in your pockets. Stocking your pockets and cupboards with high calorie processed snacks can indicate you are consuming too many calories. Beware, the results of such consumption are impossible to hide.
