Top Ten Skid Row Songs

80's Hair Band Music Revisited

Christi Bowers
Remember Skid Row? Do you recall Sebastian Bach singing I Remember You? Those were the days. The 80's were a hot time for hair bands and rock music. Skid Row was one of these prime bands. I remember seeing them perform live at Hammerjack's in Baltimore in the early 90's, right before the grunge alternative scene took over.

This article will give you my opinion of Skid Row's top ten songs.

1. Wasted Time. Wasted Time was a newer song of Skid Row, once the alternative scene came into play. Not as many people hooked on to some of Skid Row's later music, but I think they had some great songs on that 'Slave to the Grind' album.

2. 18 and Life. I like this song of Skid Row because it is my favorite to sing at karaoke. It's a very powerful tune for vocals.

3. I Remember You. This is probably the song of Skid Row that most people remember best. It's pretty melodic, and Sebastian Bach's voice shines in it.

4. Youth Gone Wild. This song is just about letting loose, so I like it.

5. Quicksand Jesus. This is off of the Slave to the Grind cd, released in June of 1991. Although this song sounds someone religious, I kind of take it for being more about nature.

6. Monkey Business. This is another song off of Slave to the Grind of Skid Row's later releases.

7. Psycho Love. Skid Row had some interesting, different songs, of which this was one!

8. Slave to the Grind, with the same name as the band's 1991 album.

9. Here I Am. This was a less known song off of Skid Row's first album, self titled Skid Row. The first album was released in 1989.

10. Forever. This was a previously unreleased song that came out in 1998.

I'm not good at some old bands. I remember the name and I'm sure I would recognize a song or two if I heard it, but I don't know any of their other songs. I'll have take another listen because some of those titles sound really familiar.
