1. Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
Sometimes you'll go through a devastating time of life and at some point you look back and realize that the road you've been down has led you to something even better than you could ever imagine. Broken Road by Rascal Flatts is one of those songs that help you understand that even though at the time it didn't seem to be, the road you were on was blessed because it brought you to were you are.
2. If You're Going Through Hell by Rodney Atkins
Listening to the lyrics in the song If You're Going Through Hell by country music star Rodney Atkins, will remind you that when things are tough, instead of stopping and feeling sorry for yourself, you need to keep on moving. Even when you feel that you're alone, there are people and friends that are there to give you a hand.
3. Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield's song Unwritten helps you to remember that every day is a new day and the future remains to be seen. While you may not be where you want to be in life, the remaining chapters of your life are yet to be written and you are the one holding the pen.
4. Angel by Sarah McLachlan
At one time or another it seems like everyone thinks they've been given a second chance only to blow it again. In the song Angel by Sara McLachlan, you get the feeling of comfort and peace surrounded by the arms of an angel.
5. Show Them Through Me by Annette Burkett
Show Them Through Me was written by Annette at a time when her life seemed to be spiraling downward out of control. It was when she started contemplating suicide that she found the grace of God and the courage to start living her life with the faith that God would take care of her. The song is meant to minister to those who feel like giving up by encouraging them to look at her own life and see how God does take care of those in need. Copies of the song Show Them Through Me have been distributed to cancer patients, abused women and others who are going through a difficult time in their life.
6. Under Angels Wing by Max Current
While the song Under Angels Wing by Max Current doesn't have any lyrics, the music will sink into your soul. Bobby Vanover Jr. plays straight from the heart and it comes through in his music. The mix of electric guitar, bass and drums will send you into a place where you feel sheltered from the harshness of the world under the wing of an angel.
7. Restored by Jeremy Camp
Jeremy Camp started out his adult life losing his wife Melissa to cancer. After losing his will to live, he picked himself up off the floor and started walking by faith. Everyone's struggles and devastations are unique and unlike Jeremy's own, but in the song Restored, the lyrics he uses express the restoration of his life giving hope to others that God can restore them from their feeble and broken soul and make them complete.
8. My Jesus by Todd Agnew
Todd Agnew places significance on being who you are and accepting others as they are like Jesus accepts us. My Jesus puts Christianity in a different perspective for those who have been burned by churches and organized religion. In his lyrics he admonishes those who use God for the purpose of gaining worldly wealth, while claiming to be in the world, but not of the world. Todd is one of those artists who sees beyond the four walls of the church and sees people that need acceptance instead of rejection.
9. How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin
In Chris Tomlin's words, he says "Another simple song that started from the thought of God's greatness and presence. I love how Psalm 104 writes that "he wraps himself in light…" My hope is that it is simple enough to sing, yet profound enough to cause the heart and soul to stand in wonder. I've already been overwhelmed from the response I've seen from this song."
10. Forevermore by The Abalone Kid
The Abalone Kid spent the first part of his adult life as a full partner in a law firm on Madison Avenue. He left the law and all that it offered to become a street singer and evangelist. While his journey included being disowned by his family, prior colleagues and becoming homeless, he learned what it was to "count the cost" and risk his life for the sake of Christ so that he could gain it. Howie (The Abalone Kid) sings Forevermore with purpose and confidence knowing that he will forever spend his life with Christ. You can feel his heartfelt hope that others will find the same comfort and security in Christ that he has been blessed with as he ministers to them through scripture and song. Listeners of The Abalone Kid's Forevermore CD have said that they realized it wasn't about the style of music, but about the anointing on his music. Another listener, Mark, said "Thank you for your response, that really hit the spot and has helped so much to lift my heart to him. I have made a decision to surrender all that was my past life to him and trust him for the future to come. Many thanks, blessings to you."
