Cross Canadian Ragweed is a band that you have probably already heard about. The band name was derived by combining the founding members names, which they did in 1994. The band names used were Grady Cross, Cody Canada, Randy Ragsdale, and Matt Wiedemann. Matt Wiedemann left the band shortly after, but the name remains the same. Wiedemann was replaced by Jeremy Plato, as the bass guitarist of Cross Canadian Ragweed.

The band is said to have formed in Yokon, Oklahoma, though later they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. CCR has released seven studio albums including: Carney (1998), Highway 377 (2001), Cross Canadian Ragweed (2002), Soul gravy (2004), Garage (2005), Mission California (2007), Happiness and All The Other Things (2009). Not to mention they have released three live albums including: Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog Saloon (1999), Live and Loud at Bill Bob's Texas (2002), Back to Tulsa: Live and Loud at Cain's Ballroom (2006). The band has worked with Lee Ann Womack, who did background vocals on four of the tracks for "Cry Lonely". The band has also played with Dierks Bentley, Stoney Larue, Reckless Kelly, and Wade Bowen.
