The release of their first album in 2000 titled "Rascal Flatts" produced their first country chart topping hit, "Prayin' for Daylight." The year 2002 brought the hugely successful album titled, "Melt," which brought Rascal Flatts the recognition they needed. It also brought four hits that topped the country music charts. The band won their first #one hit with the title cut "Melt," with "These Days" following the same path. The album got immense air play on country radio stations. The songs continued to grow in popularity. The great song, "Mayberry" reminisces of small town life from the past and this song made it to #one in 2004 also. The other chart-topper from the "Melt" album was "Love You Out Loud."
The awards were numerous for this now famous group after the "Melt" success. In the year 2003, Rascal Flatts won the Country Music Association (CMA) award for Vocal Group of the Year. They also won the Academy of Country Music (ACM) award the same year for Top Vocal Group and for Song of the Year. They also won the Country Music Television (CMT) Flameworthy Music Video Award in 2003 for Group/Duo of the Year. The awards continued into the year 2004 with another CMT Flameworthy Music Video Award for Group/Duo of the Year. Rascal Flatts still weren't finished receiving awards for the album "Melt," they did it again with another CMA for Vocal Group of the Year in 2004!
The very next year they released the "Feels Like Today" album with "Bless the Broken Road" making it to #one on the country charts. Their release of this song won them three Grammy Award nominations. They won for the Best Country Song category. Rascal Flatts again won the CMA award for Vocal Group of the Year in 2005 as well as the ACM award again for Top Vocal Group. The song titled, "Fast Cars and Freedom" made it to #one on the country charts with "Skin (Sarabeth)" not far behind at #two. In May of 2005 they also performed their hit "Bless the Broken Road" live with Carrie Underwood on the popular American Idol television show.
The release of their newest album in 2006 titled, "Me and My Gang" is again proving to be successful for Rascal Flatts. The year isn't over and it has already moved into the top country album spot with more than two million copies sold. The song "What Hurts the Most" has already made it to #one on the country charts. This phenomenal group has again won the ACM award for Top Vocal Group this year as well as the CMT Flameworthy Video Music Award for Group/Duo of the Year. Rascal Flatts also did a song and video for the Disney animated movie titled "Cars" which was released in June of 2006. The song "Life is a Highway" is also a chart topping success. The title track from this current album, "Me and My Gang" is gaining in popularity and is getting a lot of radio air time. The group is currently touring across the country and their shows are said to be fantastic! Maybe they will be coming to your town next and you can see for yourself just how dynamic Rascal Flatts is! The year is not over, so I guess time will tell how many more songs from this album will reach the #one spot on the charts. I know I'll be listening and watching!

Post a CommentI honestly have to say that I love this group with all my heart. Now being only 17 I will have to say that I have had some tough times through my life, and this group has helped me get through all of it. Their songs always motivate me to do the right thing instead of the wrong. And all that I have to say to the 2 people that were making a mockery out of them is to: Grow up and get a life! Obviously you don't have anything else better to do than to sit on the internet all day and type stupid comments about groups just because you like the crap that they are playing on the radio about sex and drugs. Oh yes that's real nice to teach little kids. So next time think about what you are listening to and then come back to comment on great Country music like this. =) (anyone agree with me?)
Rascal flatts is the most inpsirational band there is. I don't care what people say, their music has helped me through rough times and their music is safe for the kids too, unlike that disrespectful junk they listen to today.
Worst "country" band ever. I honestly thought that Mary Chapin-Carpenter was making a comeback when I first heard them because the lead vocalist sounds exactly like a woman. Combine that with the fact that Life is a Highway is a direct rip-off, they dress like drug-store cowboys, and what they produce can hardly be considered country, and it's just another testament to how marketing and hype covers up lack of substance and art. These guys are the most generic form of pop, and America is dumb enough to get sucked in.....AIN'T COUNTRY....AIN'T even southern rock. These guys are vanilla wafer metrosexuals. I'm pretty sure that Johnny Cash would've kicked all three of their asses with one arm tied behind his back.
Rascal Flatts always has inspirational music and can help anyone, especially teens, through rough times. If anything they should get more respect for that.
You people must be kids, This is not Country Music. This is a boy band that didnt make it when Nsyk and Back street hit it big so they sent them out as a country band. With the help of computers they make them sound good. If you ever here them live you will relize they cant sing. He sings thourgh his nose, off key and sounds like a girl who does cocaine. MEN should not sound like that group nor should country artist ever have moose in their hair. If you like this music you are not a country fan you are a POP fan. And when you grow up a little bit you will look back and hate yourself for ever likeing this type of music. Thank god they finally got called out for how they really sound on the 2007 CMAs last night. Jamie Fox couldn't even carry them through.... THEY SUCK and thats just how it is.
Rascal Flatts are the best country band known to man! The best songs are What hurts the most, My Wish, Yes I do, Life is A highway, where you are, fast cars and freedom and broken road! My entire family loves Rascal Flatts, and who could blame them?!
when did they release "my wish"
Love them! Could listen to so many of their songs over and over..
Man these guys suck! Am I right?
I love the music of rascal flats. My favorite song of their is either what hurts the most or "this is my wish" because it reminds of my daughter.
