Top Ten Songs that Can Be Used with Various Sports

Everyone enjoys either playing or watching some type of sport whether it be football, baseball, basketball, hockey, ice skating, gymnastics, wrestling, track, or another such activity. People often associate specific songs or music with various sporting events. In this article, I will provide my top ten list of songs that I believe best fit with certain athletic activities.

1. We Are the Champions by Queen - Most people would agree that this is the ultimate challenge song. When I hear this song, I tend to envision a wrestling match, a hockey match, a football game, or any other type of competitive sport.

2. Eye of the Tiger by Survivor - This song brings to mind a boxing match due mainly to the fact that it was the theme song for Rocky III. This powerful song could also be used for a football, hockey, or basketball game.

3. Chariots of Fire by Vangelis - Due to the subject matter of the movie with the same name, this beautiful melody would be a wonderful accompaniment for a track event. Also, its use with ice skating would also be lovely as well.

4. Can You Take Me Higher by Creed - This song would be great as background music for a hang gliding video .

5. Barracuda by Heart - This fast paced melody would be perfect for any type of racing. Ironically, one could also see it being used for a swimming competition.

6. Siull a Run by Celtic Woman - This enchanting rendition of an Irish folk song could be effectively used as music for an ice skating routine.

7. Orinoco Flow by Enya - This uplifting melody would be a perfect song for a sailing race, a gymnastics floor routine, or a ice skating presentation.

8. Take Me Out To the Ball Game - This song has been a traditional part of professional baseball games for a long time. It is usually played during the seventh inning.

9. Jump by Van Halen - This song makes you want to do exactly what its title is - jump! It would be an appropriate accompaniment for a basketball game or a series of skydivers.

10. Theme Song of Rocky I - This piece of music makes you want to get up and start running and throwing punches in the process. This song would be well matched with a boxing match (obviously), a football game, or a basketball game.
