Besides knowing what to buy for your busy theatre geek (See my article: Top Ten Gift Ideas For Theatre Geeks), you have to come up with some creative stocking stuffers that they will love.

Top Ten Stocking Stuffers For Theatre Geeks

1. Tickets

Even if you are not near a major city, a small local theatre or dinner theatre will have gift certificates of tickets you can add to your theatre geek's stocking. Not only do theatre geeks love performing on stage and managing backstage, they also love watching others perform. Tickets are a top choice.

2. Small Costume Pieces

Scarves, gloves and ties are great pieces to drop into a theatre geek's stocking. These are accessory pieces they can use to authenticate future roles they receive.

3. Hair Supplies

A theatre geek never has all the bobby pins they need at any given time. People forget to return them and they use them for almost every show. They need hundreds, if not thousands so they become the go-to person for that one last bobby pin everyone needs.

Rubber bands go the same way. A theatre geek needs rubber bands in various sizes, but the color must blend in with their hair color, so those fancy designs are not an option.

4. Sewing Supplies

A new package of sewing needles and a few spools of thread may not impress many people if they found them in their stocking, but for a theatre geek, it tells them that you know them well.

Other items you could include would be buttons, elastic, small scissors and snaps.

5. Colored Pencils

Different shades of colored pencils make a great stocking stuffer for a theatre geek. They draw stage layouts, sample make-up designs, costume designs and so on. To be able to add color to their drawings helps their creativity.

6. Sunglasses

Who can be a drama queen, or king, without cool sunglasses. Not only will your theatre geek use them the way they are meant to be used, but they make fantastic props.

7. Elaborate Costume Jewelry

Long chains and bright beads stand out on stage and will add to any theatre geek's collection of costuming accessories.

Search for these items at yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops.

8. Make-up

The best time to buy make-up for a theatre geek is during Halloween season, but you can still find some interesting make-up in the clearance aisles.

If you are buying regular make-up, the colors must be strong. Buy heavy foundation, bright blush and bold lip stick.

9. Water Bottle Filters

Name brand water filtration systems, such as Brita, carry a line of water bottle filters which will slip into the neck of a bottle of water and filter the water as it is being used.

While your theatre geek is at a long rehearsal, they can refill their water bottle from the sink and safely drink it. This is a practical stocking stuffer that you may not even know they are wishing they had.

10. Hand Held Tape Recorder

A mini tape recorder helps theatre geeks learn their lines, make reminder notes to themselves and records the music they need to learn dance steps to. A small tape recorder can easily fit into a pocket, thus can easily fit into a stocking.

Don't forget to throw in a few extra tapes.
