That is the question that many in the Republican Party are probably asking themselves after Tea Party candidate Joe Miller unseated Lisa Murkowski in the Alaska Senate race. In fact, a number of Tea Party candidates have won Republican primaries in other states. However, many people will be surprised to know that tea party members let their lives in ways that are subtly different from that of the average American. Ten interesting facts about Tea Party members are different are listed below
1. Many, if not most,Tea Party members wake up each morning and recite a Pledge of Allegiance to Paul Revere.
2. While most Tea Party members don't actually drink tea, most have a ceremonial tea pot on their kitchen table with the words "the Tea Party will never surrender" printed on the side.
3. While Tea Party members may work in everyday jobs at modern companies, most Tea Party members enjoy ritualistically dressing up in revolutionary attire before going to bed each night.
4. Many Tea Party members believe that the British, or the United Nations, may try to invade the United States again, and that the only way to protect the country is to elect Tea Party candidates to higher office.
5. Some Tea Partiers believe that their political party has existed in secret for hundreds of years, rather than being a organization that was created in 2008 when Ron Paul ran for president. Tea Parties often say that they have decided to rise up against modern political parties as spending in the federal government has run amuck and because they are tired of holding meetings in abandoned factory buildings.
6. Many Tea Partiers who attended Glenn Beck's rally at the Lincoln Memorial refused to look into the eyes of the Abraham Lincoln statue, as they believe that doing so would supposedly turn them into stone.
7. Many party members have signed a petition to elevate Sarah Palin to sainthood in honor of her work with the Tea Party.
8. The Tea Party was invented by failed presidential candidate Ron Paul who in a drunken stupor exclaimed that, "We need another Boston Tea Party to shake this country up!"
9. White House senior adviser David Axelrod once referred to the Tea Party members as "tea bags", and Tea Partiers have never forgiven him. Thousands of Tea Party members have taken a pilgrimage to the White House to lob teabags over the wall in protest of Axelrod's comments.
10. Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, has often stated that he hopes to be elected to the White House as the first Tea Party President.
