Top Ten Teen Rated Video Games for PlayStation 3

Rochelle Connery
It's not easy to find teen rated games for Playstation 3 that contain enough action to be worth the money yet don't contain the mature content of the more popular adult video games. But many teen rated games made it to Playstation 3's list of best sellers, so you're not alone in your quest for such entertainment. Here is the lowdown of ten of the best teen rated Playstation 3 games that are appropriate and enjoyable for older players, too.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Step into Nathan Drake's shoes and head to the jungles of Panama on your quest for a huge golden statue. Fight mercenaries, jungle pirates and demon-possessed creatures with a variety of weaponry, including AK-47's, Makarov pistols, grenade launchers and turret guns.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Pick up on a new adventure to the Himalayas as you help Drake find the Cintimanti Stone among the ruins of the fabled Shangri-La. Instead of demon-possessed creatures, you'll battle against beastly Guardians that are nearly impossible to kill. But you'll get a better weapons selection in this sequel. Choose from an FN-FAL rifle, GAU-19 Gatlin gun, more devastating grenades, M-32 grenade launchers and rocket launchers.

SingStar

SingStar has perhaps the most game add-on options for new songs to sing with one or two people than any other singing game on any console. Choose from ABBA packs, multiple pop music volumes and even foreign language song titles. Two microphones come with the original SingStar pop music volumes.

Infamous

Play a good guy or a really bad guy in Infamous, where you'll have building-jumping, electricity-shooting powers that you either use for good or evil, depending on your mission. Yes, you have to answer to a boss for each mission. But on the bright side, you get to complete the mission your way by either killing everything in your path or living and letting live.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

The one thing I dislike about this game is that Batman has no real weapons. He must go up against laser-sighted machine guns armed with nothing but a cape, a few batarangs and some bang-'em-up moves that knock villains cold. But the real challenge comes when Batman must fight twenty or more thugs at a time using only his body movements, cape whacks and sharp-edged missiles.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

You don't necessarily have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy the Star Wars games. Although it might be helpful if you played this game's prequel first, you can still have fun unleashing the force and fighting enemies with more than just bladed and gunpowder weapons that you use in most other Playstation games.

Rock Band 3

My biggest gripe with most musical video games is the song selection. Between songs you've probably never heard of and those that you don't really like, there are typically very few to choose from that you actually want to play. But with Rock Band 3 that isn't the case. There is a whole lineup of player-pleasers in this pack, from classic rock hits like Def Leppard's "Foolin'" and Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" to the more modern HIM's "Killing Loneliness" and Rammstein's "Du Hast."

The Sims 3

The Sims games are really only for people who like reality TV, but if you're in the mood for wasting time and creating your own fantasies, build a Sim home and adopt a Sim character. The new element about this game is that you get the "Karma" feature, which allows your character to be impacted by their good or evil life choices.

Super Street Fighter IV

Vicariously become your favorite movie street fighter and beat up everything in sight with Tae kwon Do moves. Though there are few objectives in this game besides beating your opponents to a pulp, you do get to choose from several new characters, participate in team battles and complete bonus "Car" and "Barrel" stages.

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011

Be John Cena, The Rock or Bret hart for a few hours as you punch your way to glory in WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011. In this brawling installment, you'll take on your opponent using various grappling moves that help you develop your best crushes. There's even a little bit of a storyline, if you can believe that.
