Top Ten Things that Make Associated Content Great

Why I Love AC

Ben Eubanks
This website is an amazing one, and I happy to have to opportunity to share my "Top 10 Things that Make Associated Content Great." While this article is written with a serious tone, this article is not. However, both of them concern Associated Content and its Content Producers. Without further ado, here is my top ten list.

1) Associated Content Makes you a better writer.

I have been writing for AC for only a short time, but I am already learning some of the fundamentals of writing good web content. I am trying to include good keywords, specialize for search engine optimization (SEO), and write for ad-alignment.

2) Associated Content pays you for doing what you love.

Assuming you love writing, that is. AC has a variety of ways to pay you for your work. These include upfront payments (based on many factors), performance payments (based on page views), and maybe even a bonus (referral, beginning Content Producer, etc.).

3) Associated Content has future potential in the partner distributions.

I've read about a few AC writers being contacted to write for partner sites, and I am looking forward to getting my own contact from them. This will be a great way to get more exposure for quality articles outside the confines of AC.

4) Associated Content has a great forum area to relax.

I have been into the forum to ask questions just a few times, but I've always enjoyed interacting with the other people there. Also, the forum is where you find the great thing in number nine on this list.

5) Associated Content is a great place to share your creative writing.

I have written a smattering of short stories and poems, and I never figured anyone outside my family and close friends would ever read them. However, AC is a good method to get your work out there to the masses.

6) Associated Content uses a graduated pay scale (Clout) to compensate harder-working (or smarter) writers.

This gives you an incentive not only to write well initially for a bonus, but also to continue in hopes that you will become one of the coveted Level 10 Content Producers. Plus, I really enjoy trying to get my page views up to the next Clout level!

7) Associated Content offers exclusive, nonexclusive, and display options for articles.

Many of us are trying to earn a little bit of money from our writing, and the fact that AC allows you to post articles that are nonexclusive is wonderful, because we can post our work elsewhere to add to our income.

8) Associated Content gives you a chance to meet new people.

I have met several very nice people since I started writing for AC. While I may not have come here explicitly for that purpose, I really enjoy getting a nice article comment or private message (PM) from another content producer (CP).

9) Associated Content's forum also allows new writers to get critiqued "in the workshop."

I have been checking out the forums a little bit, and the experienced writers and posters are always offering to read and give a few tips to the new writers. The camaraderie and helpfulness displayed by these individuals is a great addition to AC.

10) Associated Content offers multiple tools to share your content.

When I first started, I wondered how I would get the word out about my writing on AC. However, I have steadily been finding new ways to share my articles. Facebook, Myspace, Delicious, Reddit, Propeller, and email subscriptions are just a few avenues I've utilized to share my work.

AC is a great place to write and read all kinds of articles. Most questions about AC can be answered on their FAQ page. If you don't find the answer there, PM a CM or visit the forum to talk to a CP. (You'll get used to the lingo fairly quickly!) Now, start writing!

I have already learned a lot about how to improve my writing skills since I joined over a month ago. The extra money is nice too :)
