1. A Hand Radio
When the road gets rough, be it weather or circumstance, having a battery operated, pocket radio can be a godsend. Park off by the side of the road some place safe and follow the news or weather reports with your little radio buddy.
Average Price: $5
2. A Helmet
Some might say this should be number one, but I disagree because it's clichéd. Some choose not to wear one because of 'helmet hair' or a perceived unattractiveness to it. I say it's better to survive a crash then look good dead.
Average Price: $25
3. A Reliable Map
Though a necessary accessory to any motorcycle, there are those that prefer winging it and not bringing one along. Others believe they can just count on the electronic equivalent. Why risk it? Batteries die and tech can fail- paper is faithful.
Average Price: $4
4. Pair of Gloves
Biker gloves! One part style, one part functionality, and one part safety! In other words- look good, keep your hands clean, and keep them protected. Leather is a better choice than cloth for most.
Average Price: $3
5. Gas Container
Let's face it- you may not notice your gas tank dangling over E. When that last of drop goes- what are you going to do? Drag your bike down to the nearest Mapco? Better to come prepared with a container to transport some gasoline back. Last I checked a Sprite bottle isn't an optimal alternative.
Average Price: $7
6. Tool Kit
This one hinges on whether or not you actually have an mechanical aptitude. After all, all the wrenches and screwdrivers in the world will do you know good if you have no idea what you're doing. Still, when a simple repair or alteration is needed- a tool kit can be a huge help.

7. First Aid Kit
Like it or not, chances are you're going to get injured at some point during your time owning a motorcycle. Better to be prepared with some basic medical supplies when that inevitably happens.
Average Price: $11
8. Rechargeable Flashlight & Sunglasses
This pair solve the problems of both sides of the coin. Too bright out? Put on some shades. Too dark? Pull out a nice bright flashlight. I recommend the rechargeable variety with the lever for easy charging.
Average Price: RF- $9, SG- $4
9. Chain & Lock
There will be those at are jealous of your chick magnet vehicle. Those that wish to take it and use it for their diabolical whims. By chaining up and locking your motorcycle when it's unattended, you protect yourself against this threat.
Average Price: $12
10. Motorcycle Cover
Rainwater is no good for your ride- nor the other elements. Protect your bike against rain, dust, snow, and so-on with a nice, durable cover. It may not perfectly defend it, but it's at least a layer of protection.
