GTA Vice City: "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger
You might find it odd for such a Classic hit to be found in an rather gangsta-style video game. Nonetheless, we're not complaining. Although this song was a bit overplayed back in the day, it still runs chills up your spine whenever you listen to it.
Uncharted 1: Entire Soundtrack
Uncharted 1: Drake's Fortune features some of the most epic orchestral music of all time. In my opinion, it even rivals that of "Pirates of the Caribbean," which isn't easily topped in my book. I really like some of the fight scenes with the island pirates, which feature fight music from a Spanish guitar.
Uncharted 2: Entire Soundtrack
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves carried on the same orchestral vibes for Nate Drake's adventures. I'm glad they came up with a new theme song for the sequel. The same one as the old one would have been fine, but since they didn't drop the ball with the second one, I'm happy to listen to it as I watch the Shangri-La dagger twirl back and forth as I wait for the game to load.
SingStar Volume 2:"Prayer of the Refugee" by Rise Against
Undoubtedly the best song on PS3's karaoke-esque game, this Rise Against song is a crowd-pleaser as well as a player-pleaser. It's hard for some people to sing to due to some of its low notes, but if you're in the mood for a rocking anthem, you've got it with this song.
DJ Hero 1: "Jukebox Hero/DJ Hero" Mashup by Foreigner, DJ Z-Trip and Murs
Classic rock never melded so well with hip hop music. These two "heroic" tracks sound perfect together as you scratch along with the "DJ Hero" turntable. Neither one sounds annoying, which is a big plus in my book, considering that other songs on this game are absolutely intolerable.
DJ Hero 2: "California Love/Nothin' On You" Mashup by Tupac, B.o.B. and Bruno Mars
This "DJ Hero 2" mashup is the best summertime hit ever. You feel like you're on the California beaches when you're playing it, even if you're stuck in the Midwest in the middle of a snowstorm (yes, I've been there, so I have experience with that feeling.)
Blood Stone 007: "Blood Stone" by Joss Stone
The game developers had a ripe opportunity to allow a horrible song to fit this slot. Thankfully, they didn't. Joss Stone's vocals surprisingly match the vibe of the game. It also ties in because she voices the game's main Bond girl, Nicole Hunter.
Guitar Hero : "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath
Before Robert Downey, Jr. donned the suit and slid into the mask, Black Sabbath was way ahead of him with his own theme song. This awesome guitar hit made it into one of the #1 most popular games of all time, "Guitar Hero."
Guitar Hero III: "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N Roses
Leave it to the third installment of "Guitar Hero" to do the right thing by including an awesome Guns 'N Roses hit in the mix. "Welcome to the Jungle" is one of my favorite Guns 'N Roses songs anyway, so it's even cooler that it's in a video game.
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time: Entire Soundtrack
You can't resist the adorable fuzziness that is the Lombax, Ratchet. Nor can you deny that the music in this video game is the best possible match with a creature who can wreak havoc against someone 20 times his size.
