Top Ten Ways to Re-Use Halloween Candy

So many of us find ourselves with leftover candy from Halloween. Either we didn't give it all out, or when you went trick or treating you had way too much leftover! Anyway, here are some great tips, and fun ideas to use all of that leftover Halloween

1. Freeze the candy, but freeze it unwrapped. Then when you want, let it sit out and thaw. Before you freeze it - put it in a freezer bag.

2. If you like ice-cream you can use it crumbled up, or whole on top of your ice-cream as a topping.

3. As a treat, stick it in your child's lunch - when they go and eat lunch, they'll be happy to see you cared enough to put some candy in!

4. Donate the leftover candy to you local Pantry. I would only suggest this though if you have unopened, full bags of candy. It doesn't make sense to give in single mini chocolate bars.

5. If you have a lot of plain chocolate (Hershey's Bars, Nestle Bars), melt the chocolate (using a double broiler - or put a glass heatproof bowl on top of a boiling pot of water) and have a fondue night. Dip strawberries, pound cake, cookies, anything you like into the chocolate! Just have fun with it!

6. This is like the above one - use the leftover plain candy in frosting. Homemade frosting is one of the good things made homemade (I believe everything homemade is good, but I know others don't), and it really feels like you making a homemade cake (or whatever your frosting!).

7. Once you have frosted your cake (store-bought, or homemade) decorate it with Peanut Butter Cups, Whoppers, or any type of chocolate you want to decorate it with!

8. Go to the Hershey and search for recipes. Almost all of them involve recipes that use candy. Kisses Thumbprints, Reeses Cake; they have a lot of recipes and goodies.

9. If you work in an office - take it in and put some in a dish! Put in the company kitchen or breakroom, stick it on your desk. People will be happier after they have a little something to make their day go by!

10. Experiment! What could you do with that mini box of Dots? How about those Kit-Kats? Let me know how you get creative! Just HAVE FUN!
