How to Keep Yourself Busy on Those Days You Don't Feel like Leaving Your Computer Room

Jodi Krumholz
The Internet has a wealth of resources for keeping yourself busy on a rainy day. From cooking ideas to shopping to celebrity buzz, here are some ideas on how to fill up a full afternoon with web surfing. Enjoy!

1. So You Wanna: www.soyouwanna.com
As the site sells itself: "SoYouWanna.com teaches you how to do all the things nobody taught you in school." This includes interesting tidbits on how to do everything from how to use your knife and fork properly to getting a sex change. Go figure!

2. IVillage: www.ivillage.com
As a woman, everything you ever wanted to know about health, beauty, pregnancy, entertainment, and much more. As a man, everything you ever wanted to know about what and how women think! Be sure to check out ivillage's sub-site makeovers.ivillage.com where you can download your own picture and play around with hair and makeup styles that you would never do yourself but are curious about!

3. All Recipes : www.allrecipes.com
If you love cooking but you only have 3 random ingredients in your fridge (artichokes, bread crumbs and a bottle of lemon juice?), come to this site to figure out how to put them all together in a sure-to-impress recipe (why, artichoke dip of course!).

4. The Superficial: www.thesuperficial.com
This website offers a hysterical commentary on Hollywood stars and VIPs around the world. If you like knowing what the famous people are up to (and how they're dressed, who they're dating and what they're eating) but don't want to take it all too seriously, come have a look-see at this site.

5. The Lost Diary: www.thelostdiary.com
There's no doubt about it, "Lost" is one of the greatest and most intricate TV shows that's come about in a long time. Come get "lost" in this website, among its conspiracy theories, funny recaps and discussions...you'll come out more confused as ever and positive that figuring out the secrets to the island will somehow end world hunger...or something.

6. Find Gift: www.findgift.com
It seems there's always some holiday around the corner, or someone's birthday is at your doorstep. This site is really great for figuring out what to get those people who already have everything! You can narrow down your research according to receiver (girl? brother? co-worker?), occasion (new baby? Hanukkah?), age and/or price range and each gift idea is complete with a photo and link to the website where it can be ordered from.

7. Buzzillions: www.buzzillions.com
All sorts of products have been tested and reviewed by ordinary people like you and me. Electronics, sports gear, baby products and so on. Educate yourself on your next purchase or become a member and add your $0.02!

8. Martha Stewart: www.marthastewart.com
Even her stint in prison couldn't keep good ol' Martha down! This site is choc full of interesting crafts, recipes and ideas to keep you busier than a snail in a marathon. Note: don't open the recipe pages on an empty stomach or you may end up wolfing down whatever's left in your fridge.

9. Blogspot: www.blogger.com
Why not start your own blog, so you can share every minor detail of your own boredom with your friends and family!? You can start working on a daily diary, start a discussion on the ins and outs of Freudian theories or begin a Picture-A-Day photojournal, whatever you like, you hold the keys here at this free blogging site.

10. HGTV: www.hgtv.com
Who doesn't love a "before" and "after" home improvements story?! This site will turn you on to new ideas in decorating, landscaping, organizing and much more. You can also rate spaces, get some great budget ideas and even pick up some great advice on real estate.
