Top Ten New Year's Resolutions for Teenagers

Anyone who has raised a teenager knows that it is a couple years of the biggest parenting challenge you might have in your life. I asked about 130 teenagers in Salt Lake City, Utah if they had a New Year's resolution or a major goal that they wanted to accomplish in the coming year. Most of the teenagers had a New Year's resolution, but many had no idea how they would achieve it. If you have a teenager, maybe you can ask them to write down their goals and help them design a plan to succeed with meeting those goals. Here is the results of my poll:

Be a better/good person

I don't have a New Year's Resolution

Go to the gym and get fit/stronger

Lose weight

Save money

Get into a good college

Eat healthy

Get a job

Be happy more often

Do homework on time

Practice piano more often

Not eat sugar

Don't swear

Don't die

Get a day planner and use it

Write a journal
