Top Ten New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans in 2010

It's amazing how each year seems to fly by at warp speed once the New Year is almost here but drags by slowly during the rest of the year! Here it is almost 2010 and there's still so much living to pack into the remaining few days of 2009. One of the most important things to do here at the end of the year is to make your new year's resolutions. Oh sure, some people say not to make New Year's resolutions, you'll never keep them anyway but I say, forget the naysayers and all their doom and gloom. The easiest way to keep your New Year's resolutions is to only make resolutions that you KNOW that you WILL keep.

In fact, have you heard of a popular vampire movie that is based on a book called Twilight? Did you know that there is a sequel to the first movie called New Moon? I'm just joking when I ask that, it seems that everyone knows about Twilight! If you are a fan of the Twilight books and movies, then why not make your New Year's resolutions based around your Twilight fandom? In this article, I have created a list of the top ten New Year's resolutions for the devout Twilight fan.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #1: Google Twilight, Vampires and Stephanie Meyer daily.

By doing an Internet search each and every day, you will always be current on any new Twilight and New Moon content and news. By keeping up with the most current Twilight news, other Twilight fans will come to you and ask you what's happening. You will be seen as a knowledgeable source for the latest Twilight news. This is a good thing because 1] it will help boost your self-esteem; 2] it will show other Twilight fans that you should be the leader of your local Twilight fan club; and 3] it will increase page views for your own Twilight blog (see resolution #3).

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #2: Check out Twilight websites (frequently).

By checking out other Twilight websites, you will be able to see if anyone loves Twilight as much as you do. In addition, you will be keeping current on the latest Twilight news (see resolution #1) and you will be gathering information for your own Twilight blog (see resolution #3). There is also the obvious benefit that you will be able to make your own Twilight blog much better than all the other blogs.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #3: Create Your Own Twilight Blog.

By creating your own Twilight blog you can show the cyber world how much you love Twilight. There are also a couple of other advantages to having your own Twilight blog; you can show how much you know about Twilight (see resolution #1) and you may be able to make money to buy more Twilight merchandise (see resolution #5).

There are people who are able to make money with their blogs. Unfortunately I am not entirely familiar with the how and whys of it but there is some basic information on how you can make money with your own blog here.

You can find out more information on how blogs work by doing a basic Internet search. To help you in keeping your 2010 New Year's resolutions, you can create a free and relatively simple blog at Wordpress.com and/or Blogger.com

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #4: Sign up for accounts at Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter.

When you visit popular social websites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, make sure to become a fan, friend and follow everyone who has anything to do with Twilight. By having accounts at all these social websites, you will not only be plugged into the latest Twilight news, you will also be able to tell others the latest Twilight news more easily. Sometimes there are Twilight-based contests that you can enter which you can find out from some of the social networking websites. A few of the social networking websites to help get you started in the cyber world include: Facebook.com; MySpace.com; Twitter.com; and Gather.com.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #5: Shop for Twilight Merchandise.

As a Twilight fan, you will probably want to own as much Twilight merchandise as possible. You can decorate your bedroom or entire house with a Twilight theme. During the holidays, you can even decorate your Christmas tree with a Twilight theme. I have written a helpful article called "Tips to Decorate Your Christmas Tree with a Twilight Vampire Theme."

There are other places you can find Twilight themed merchandise. You can find free Twilight coloring pages here. One idea, if you have a car, is to get a Twilight scene painted on it. If you can't paint, you can Google car murals to find someone who can do a Twilight mural on your car. An easier and less expensive alternative to a painted mural is a Twilight decal for your car (or your house too). Amazon.com sells them for $15.99 and they have several different word or phrase styles available.

Fortunately, many online e-tailers make it easy for you to find plenty of Twilight merchandise. Here are just a few websites where you can find plenty of Twilight merchandise: Amazon.com; CafePress.com; HotTopic.com.

At this website, you will find ideas and links to merchandise to help you decorate your bedroom with bedding, furniture and knick knacks similar to those in Bella's movie bedroom.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #6: Write Your Own Twilight Fan Stories & Draw Pictures of Your Favorite Twilight Characters.

If you love Twilight and all its characters and the world they inhabit, you probably think about the characters and their world a lot of the time anyway. Since you're already thinking about them, why not write down your thoughts? You don't have to be a "good" writer to write but you can only become a good writer if you do write. Let your imagination go wild, what would you have changed about Twilight, both the movies and the books? You can include yourself in the stories and add things to the Twilight stories that you wish Stephanie Meyer had included. If you are for Team Edward, then you definitely have to write yourself into the story as the one Edward is dreaming about being with forever.

If you can draw, and even if you think you can't, you can draw pictures of your favorite Twilight characters. Find yourself plenty of blank paper or a notebook and some pencils and start drawing. You can illustrate your own Twilight fan stories.

There are Twilight fan fiction websites where you can post your Twilight stories and drawings and read other fans stories. It's a fun way to connect with other Twilight fans and gives you more content for your Twilight blog (see resolution #3). A couple of fan fiction websites are www.fanfiction.net/book/Twilight/ and www.twilightfancenter.com/ though there are plenty more available in cyberspace.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #7: Write a letter to Stephanie Meyer.

Tell her how much you love the books and the movies. Tell her you've written some of your own Twilight fan stories. Tell her about your Twilight character drawings. Most authors love to hear from their fans because they know it is the fans that make them popular (and rich!). Unfortunately, you probably won't get a letter back from her because so many other Twilight fans are also writing to her.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #8: Plan a Weekly or Monthly Twilight Board Game Party with Other Twilight Fans.

You're already thinking about Twilight most of the time anyway, why not get together with other Twilight fans in real time and play any one of the Twilight board games that are available? You can drink red drinks (to mimic blood) and wear plastic vampire teeth and clothing similar to what Twilight characters were wearing in the movies. Not only will getting together to play Twilight games help your social and gaming skills, it will also give you more content for your Twilight blog (see resolution #3). If you don't want to play Twilight board games, you can play Twilight trivia, Twilight charades or any other game that will lend itself to being changed to a Twilight theme. Make your party a potluck and have each person bring a Twilight themed food dish. Combine your party with a meeting of the local branch Twilight fan club. As long as you're all together and it's all about Twilight, it will be fun for all.

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #9: Plan to Wear Twilight Clothing in 2010.

Plan your wardrobe for the entire year of 2010 around a Twilight theme. Wear clothing that is similar to the clothes worn by any one or more of the characters in the Twilight movies and books. When planning what to wear, make certain to include Twilight jewelry. For instance, wear jewelry that is adorned with the Cullen Family Crest. There are plenty of Twilight t-shirts and other Twilight brand clothing if you don't want to wear clothing similar to those of the movie characters. As you wear your Twilight clothing in 2010, don't forget to take pictures of yourself to add to your Twilight blog (see resolution #3).

New Year's Resolutions for Twilight Fans #10: Take Every Twilight Test You Can Find Online.

What is more fun than taking those silly online quizzes? I know I enjoy finding out what cartoon character I am most like or how much I know about Spongebob Squarepants! I am not joking when I say that, I do like those quizzes and for the Twilight fan, there are numerous different types of Twilight quizzes in cyber space. You can even create your own Twilight quizzes for others to take. Always remember to include your Twilight quizzes on your Twilight blog.
